I look forward to trying it since Chanel usually does a good job with their "women's" fragrances. I just hope they don't start dumbing them down like they have with their "men's" fragrances.

Especially for a "noir". I find Coco to be kind of sensual and I'd hope a noir to be even more so, but it doesn't seem like that's the idea. I'm still excited to test it.
What an AMAZING looking bottle though. It's one of the most attractive bottles I've ever seen judging by the picture.

Yes - it would be so wrong. Especially with a "noir" scent. I was going to say that "noir" would not appeal to the Hello Kitty fruity floral fan. Alas, Hello Kitty Noir just hit the shelves recently, so brace yourselves, people.

Honestly, though, I don't think they'll screw up a Coco. No. Not happening.

I'm sorry to hear this. I would have preferred a quasi-oriental, but I can certainly live with anything predicted to be a big hit, like Bleu de Chanel was.

I feel like a guy who shorted the market in 1929. I know everybody around me is crying over the "M-word", and inside I'm jumping up and down and clearing a spot in the drawer right next to my 5.0-oz. bottle of Bleu de Chanel.

Let's wait for some more reviews to come in. I suspect that there is a valid "noir" accord in this fragrance, and maybe finding that will be enough to redeem it for many folks. Certainly would for me. Bleu's dark notes, buried under the freshness, are what I truly love. If he did that here, I'll be a happy camper.

Maybe there's a shiny black pearl under the pink ribbon. I'm not giving up hope yet.

Ha, kalli - very cute and clever!

You know, I can't say I'd be very disappointed if I don't love it because I never was able to muster any real enthusiasm for it from the beginning ...not that I assume it will be awful, but I just don't see the need for it, especially now that it seems to be more of a flanker to Coco Mademoiselle than to Coco, which is quite noir enough in my book anyway. I suppose I just don't need another Coco - the glorious original is already so perfect.

Oh, my wife is a huge Chococat fan, but she's a fan of HK as well. She got me hooked on Chococat. It's totally viral. Run away from Sanrio characters - they're quite dangerous!

Kitty and Choco are like the patron saints of modern (aka juvenile) fragrance, hence their presence in my avatar. Like the Powerpuff Girls, they were born in a lab accident, but this time in a perfume lab. Somebody mixed Angel, A*Men, Hanae Mori HM, and Flowerbomb. Normally this wouldn't do anything, but the mixture was poured into Dior Homme Intense and one of the Chance flankers. A sleepy lab technician added cream and sugar.....

    KABOOM!

Faster topnotes than a speeding summer flanker!

More powerful than a trainload of Aspartame!

Able to leap over long lines of poorly selling classics in a single release!

Yes, laugh at these cute little imaginary cats all you want, but chocolate and sugar shall rule the fragrance world! And now...

Coco Noir! Chanel's answer to Guerlain's "Little Black Robitussin"!

*RP goes into hyperglycemic euphoria and passes out*

Seriously, I think I may be able to get a sniff of this tomorrow. We'll see. I'm actually most interested in whether (1) it's guy friendly, for me, and (2) whether it's different enough from Coco that my wife will be interested. She has Coco, but she rarely wears it anymore. It will be interesting to see if this one can bring back the love.

Unfortunately, that's only about $20 NZD higher than what stores in NZ charge for 50ml bottles of Chanel EDP. So to pay an extra $20 to get it a month before everyone else (September worldwide release)- its a pretty good price.
