Default Question about l'eau d'issey pour homme

When i first spray this fragrance it has a REALLY harsh opening, kind of like a strong lemon scented house cleaner. It stays like that for a couple hours to me. I sprayed this on my pillow and i hate how it smells the day i spray it on. The next day on my pillow i love the smell. Does anyone else get this? I blind bought this by the way from all the positive reviews and feedback. If i wear this scent should i just spray on my clothes the day before i wear it to school or something? That is the only way i can get this scent i want, otherwise it will be a strong lemon scent that i don't like if i spray it on my skin.

So.. have you tried spraying it on your skin and -waiting a while- then noticing how it smells? :P

Personally, I love it from start to finish...I can see where you may get harshness, but to me its more effervescent than harsh at the top.

I sprayed it on my skin before but it takes a while to smell good.

Vince, how many sprays do you usually do and where? And how long does it take for you to get rid of that harsh opening?

Yeah it's totally normal. It probably smells so harsh because it's literally on you, possibly inches away from your nose. Don't worry because it won't smell that harsh to other people. It's a beautiful scent a few hours in.

That one is a little sharp at first. Maybe spray it a little farther away from yourself, so the mist is finer and more dispersed - that might take some of the edge off... And maybe apply it a little while before you leave, so it wears off a little.

Simply leave more standby time after applying, also, try spraying on other application points and spray on smaller quantities.

This is one of, if not my least liked scent, but I would have to admit that the dry-down is definitely more agreeable than the early harsh yuzu and floral notes that are near unbearable (to my nose, at least). Everything is relative, I guess...

I don't like this fragrance but the longevity is very good.
