Default Advice about Bond no. 9 fragrances

I have trouble with longevity with scents, and read about Bond no 9 lasting so I ordered 6 sample vials to try. I didn't like Wall Street- too much like mulched vines. Didn't like Riverside Drive- smelled like Joop mixed with GIT. I didn't like Bleecker St. A sickly Grape/current smell gave me a headache. Andy Warhol Silver Factory is ok, but nothing to rave about. I enjoyed the New York Amber, and the New York Oud...I tend to like citrus or Oud fragrances. I want to give Bond no 9 another chance b/c all of the fragrances I tried from them had incredible longevity. Based on the above, what other Bond fragrances should I order next? at $15/six samples, I want to get more than 2 that I enjoy. Thanks in advance...

If you're keen on citrus notes, you might enjoy Coney Island.

Also, not Bond No.9, but I think you would like the new Acqua di Parma Oud. Mildly citric with a good quality oud.

Little Italy-Straight up citrus, great stuff
Coney Island-Citrus mixed with some sweet and salt, even greater stuff
New Haarlem-Man do I love this stuff-Coffee, amber, maple syrup
I Love New York For All-Chocolate, nutty, creamy stuff
Central Park-Citrus with some other good stuff.
Bond no 9 Perfume-I don't really know what it is about this but I like this stuff

Yeah, I think that Bond no 9 has a lot of good stuff...but I do like Bleeker Street a lot too, which I know you don't, so hopefully you would like my suggestions.

Move on to a different house, like Montale.

+1 on New Haarlem. It's the only Bond no. 9 I've tried but it's strangely good.

Funny you mention Montale, I love Dark Aoud, Black Aoud, Red Aoud, from them.

Nouveau Bowery. Sweet and tart lime with basil.

Great Jones- Very masculine and soapy, lasts forever. Reminds me of Paco Rabonne.
Central Park- Very Grassy and Green.
    Brooklyn- Green, fresh and energizing.
So No York- Cocoa Coffee delicious.
Also should try Signature- classy elegance, exotic.
High Line is amazing- very fresh and green. I love mixing High Line with NY Oud.
Try Harrods for Him too- it's wonderful.

My experience with bond no9 fragrances overall is that the quality if the juice is lacking, projection is non existent, scents are mostly generic smelling.... I don't get more than a few hours longevity out if any if them on skin or on clothing, except New Haarlem, which I own. As far as niche goes, bond has great marketing and packaging but few of their offerings are worth the price even at a discount. I do find Brooklyn to smell decent but I haven't tried it on skin.

At least you have found two you liked. I have tried a boatload from their house over the years and haven't found one I cared for.
    Happy hunting through your quest!

From my perspective, you've tried the best (Silver Factory -- which, I agree, is only okay). I've tried the whole line, and find them to be pretty appalling.

If you can, get a sample of Harrods Oud Patchouli. It's a dark patchouli/floral with a nice dose of oud. Smells a bit like Ungaro II re-imagined in a completely middle eastern - rather than french - context.

I think it was the best release of 2012, surpassing the Interludes et al.

    and more!

Only one I can really recommend is Coney Island. That's the only one I've found so far that's bottle-worthy. It's head and shoulders above the rest of the line. I don't like gourmands usually but I love Coney Island, it's very unique.

I am yet to find a bond I enjoy. If you want longevity and like Montale then you might enjoy Montale oud lime. Acqua di parma oud is also a great oud lime.

LOL, I started this thread 9 months ago when I was new to Bn9...In those 9 months, I have tried over 20 of their frags. I became obsessed with the house b/c I loved the longevity/projection. I had tried many fleeting fragrances, or fragrances that lasted many hours but smelled awful. I settled on a full bottle of New York Amber, New York Oud. I would buy a FB of Herrod's Oud Patchouli but I won't pay retail and haven't found it for less. It's a love/hate relationship b/c I don't like most of what I have smelled from Bn9.

They have so many fragrances to choose from the like to dislike ratio of course is gonna be dis-proportioned lol.

I thoroughly enjoy Bleeker St, Brooklyn and Coney Island. For some reason I have not pulled the trigger on CI though hmmm. I am gonna wear the sample one more time tomorrow to ensure that it is fbw for me. I wore it Friday and my brother said that it smelled like wet cardboard lmao go figure.

I think some of the Bonds are a little too off the wall for me. I didn't like Fire Island or Bleeker St, but I enjoyed Wall Street (not at first) and Eau de New York very much. I'd give Eau de New York a sniff.
