That's a tough one, it sounds like you need to avoid spraying on your upper body, completely, and where's the fun in that. I suggest spraying lightly on your wrist and see how it works. Or try dabbing instead of spraying, to reduce the projection of the fragrance.
If your tolerance for scent is low, make sure you use unscented bath products and no scented detergents/fabric softener. Maybe then you can enjoy higher dosages of your favourite fragrances in general.
