Default I tried Maison Francis Kurkdjian newest Amyris Homme

    Hello girls!
Many of you know that I'm an absolute iris lover and that I got to try every iris possible to develop my olfactory skills for this note. Of course not every iris works but that's all about trying, making your mind and deciding if you like it or not!

This weekend I tried sample of newest perfume by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. It's called Amyris and it comes in Homme and Femme version. It's all about iris, wood and a touch of spices.

It smells so amazing. This iris is a little floral, quite powdery, sensual and also very mighty. Like a powerful queen!
I'm sure that you iris lovers down there will really love this perfume.

For my more detailed thoughts please check out my blog review

Gotta put it on my to-buy list.

Thank you for this. As an iris lover I've been quite curious about this one!

Loved that while one sits on the throne, another one is feverishly looking for a lost diamond ring.

How much musk does the masculine fragrance utilize?

How does it compare to Iris Pallida?

    Dear Twolfie
For me there's not much musk in Amyris Homme. There's no musk in official notes but I guess there would be a small dose in it's base, although I didn't get a typical musk aroma, even in Amyris Homme's undertones.

You mean Iris Pallida from L'Artisan right? Can't tell you dear, I don't know L'Artisan's Iris Pallida, unfortunately

This is a very well blended scent and quite natural at that too.
It does smell common place though, the I have smelt this before sort of vibe.
It has the booziness of YSL L'homme, the lemony citrus notes of Dior Homme Sport, and the herbal rosemary notes are similar to the Le Matin of his also.

I would have thought the the fragrance would be more gourmady, but this is not really the case. Its more of a fresh citrue floral with some woods at the background.

Nicely blended, though I won't buy this because it feels like I smelt this before somewhere else.
