Bvlgari - Aqua
My personal favorite hot weather aqua!
He Wood(lol) by Dsquared
L'Homme by YSL
Unforgivable by Sean John
Love & Luck by Ed Hardy
Every single one of those have bored me. The only one I can tolerate wearing is L'Eau D'issey PH, and even then the smell is pretty whatever to me. Anyone have any recommendations for sampling?

My personal favorite hot weather aqua!
Beach by Pascal Morabito
I get bored of those too. Lately i've been reaching for Original Vetiver alot. This heat kills frags so quick that i've been experimenting with lotions. Coconut lime breeze by bath and body works is good and so is sandlewood by caswell massey, especially layered with their edt partner.
It's hard to find a really good summer scent. I can't wait for Fall. the 2009 summer edition of Issey Miyake is a good summer fragrance, however.
thank you for your suggestions, I will add these to my samples list
Live Jazz! Dirt heap and it's got that wonderful mint/coriander note.
Chanel Sycomore (fresh vetiver with a touch of woods), and Caron Troisieme Homme (slightly floral fougere).
I really like Dior's Dune, a dry, alternative to all of the common citrusy summer scents. Also like Lalique's White. I think they are both excellent summer fragrances and not the common ozonic, aquatic, citrus stuff that is always being offered.
My favorites in the scorching heat:
AdP - Any of them but Intensa
maybe kiton for men to sample hugo by hugo boss
Isn't the summer almost over?
I have a hard time also.
Hugh Parson Blue
Dior Homme Sport
If you want the ultimate summer fragrance (not necessarity the best, but the one most suited for the summertime), you may want to take a peek at Creed Virgin Island Water. That will transport you to a tropical island...
But not practical in other seasons...
Hermes Concetre D'Orange Verte
Silver Mountain Water by Creed
And most Vetivers.
I haven't tried it yet, but I put out a similar thread awhile back and Hugh Parson's Blue was at the very top of recommendations. I ended up getting Dunhill Desire Blue and I like it, but won't be another bottle once it is finished. Funny, though, my wife loves the stuff on me.
I know it doesn't get good reviews in here, but I actually really like Eternity Aqua. I know it is 'generic', but I like the soapy/aquatic mix. It works well on my skin. Good stuff, actually.

It's late August, my advice is to start looking for a Fall frag, so hopefully you'll find one before it's the end of October.
I can't purchase aquatic scents for the purpose of "summer only." I live in California, our summer is 24/7...
If I had to pick a summer scent, Eau Fraiche is the only one I can stand.
I just wear softer gourmands in the summer.
We have some hot and humid summer days here in CT, and I spend a lot of the winter on the Caribean coast of Colombia, where the weather is oppressive, to say the least. Some of my favorites are, Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme, ADG, Versace Pour Homme, Ferrari Uomo, Bleu De Chanel, Bulgari Acqua Marine, Set Sail Saint Barts by Tommy Bahama, Blue Seduction by Antonio Banderas and Daddy Yankee. The One and Light Blue Pour Homme arent bad either. Oh, and Swiss Army Altitude is a beast in the heat, very nice.

Acqua Di Parma Essenza
These all are different and worth trying
Imagine there were no hypothetical situations.
Pomegranate Noir 100 ml, 95% full no box - $90

I've really been enjoying:
Creed Virgin Island Water (<== Especially this.)
Armani Code Sport
And I had one weekend where I really enjoyed a sample of D&G the one SPORT. I initially thought that this fragrance was something of a travesty, because it's so light, but it's not bad in extreme heat. The heat really lets it bloom up to normal fragrance levels, in situations where other stuff would be cloying.
YSL L'Homme, MI or Aventus
Another vote for Mugler Cologne
maybe Sel de Vetiver? try that one out, amazing juice
off course Aventus
I think L'eau d'Issey does d job. It's long lasting and very versatile.B it office or for casual wear,it does the job.For some it's like a nuclear garbage & for some it smells of piss bt 4 me it does d job in d scorching summer of India so it will work anywhere.
Coeur de Vetiver Sacré by L'Artisan would work nicely in warmer weather and is quite distinctive, IMO. On the less expensive side of the spectrum I recommend sampling New West for Him or Havana both by Aramis

Virgin Island Water is extremely refreshing in the heat. Last week it was 90+ degrees every day, but summer is coming to an end and we are back down to the low 80s. Almost time for fall fragrances.
Dior Homme Sport 2012 (not the original, but the reformulation.)
It's the only sport scent that I like, but I have to admit I haven't tried all that many. It's great for the summer though.
Well GIT is for a start too 'green' for summer IMHO. It's more of a rainy weather fragrance if you ask me. I'd go for MI in hot weather any day or try something citrus.
Interesting how many have mentioned Original Vetiver or Sycomore and other vetiver scents. I can't seem to wear these in the heat and despite being such a fan of OV, I seem to be going off it lately.
These have been doing the business for me this summer:
Guerlain Eau De Coq
Chanel Eau De Cologne
Monsieur De Givenchy
Eau Sauvage or Dior Homme Sport if you want something recent.
Dior Homme Sport
Chanel Allure EB
Chergui (summer nights)
1. Dior Homme/Intense
3. Musc Ravageur
4. Creed GIT
5. Tobacco Vanille

Hi @Delicious Scent! I was going to pm you this morning but saw you started a thread
I'm not a fan of aquatics, so usually go for vetiver scents in Summer (e.g. Givenchy Vetyver, TF Grey Vetiver, FM Vetiver Extraordinaire, Sycomore).
However, I would recommend trying:
Diptyque Philosykos - a lovely fresh fig scent with a bit of coconut.
Histoires de Parfum 1725 (Casanova) - a refreshing (to me anyway) fougere, and an excellent fragrance.
These two work well in Summer and will set you apart - in a good way!
As an aside, you can order six samples of your choice from HDP for 10 Euro - and they will credit it back to you if you buy a full bottle (and give you another six samples of your choice!!) - so there is a house that may hold some niche treasures for you
Dior Homme Sport and Creed Virgin Island Water are a couple of my favorite summer frags.
OK,here we go!
Acqua di Parma Colonia (original)
Gai Mattiollo Uomo ( read the reviews)
Signorrici ( ditto on the reviews)
And for Vetiver either the old standby of
Guerlian, or try a sample of Mallle's Vetiver Extraodinaire.
There is only 1 another summer fragrance except of Acqua Di Gio that I feel I have to own and will definitely buy in future.
Cartier Declaration - it has its own personality, it is fresh and green, and masculine without being harsh
Current TOP 5:
1. Gucci Pour Homme II
2. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
3. Dior Homme Intense
4. Encre Noire
Aqua Fahrenheit by Christian Dior - This is a considerably toned down version of the original, masterpiece Fahrenheit. No negative connotation is implied or should be taken; rather, this is a distinctive composition, somewhat bright and fresh, with ties to the original.
Initially, one is treated to a blast of sparkling grapefruit, with its sour greenness, tempered by a hint of sweetness from the mandarin. This invigorating, citrus melange is drawn to the heart by a nascent mint. Here, in the heart, the cool spearmint comes into its own with its sweet, green facets, and commingles with violet leaf, with its intense freshness and a hint of cucumber. Basil infuses the refreshing blend with a lively dusting of its lemon-like, savory herb. A very faint undercurrent of petro/gasoline can be sensed. Transitioning to the base, a rather ordinary, woods accord presents, and interplays with a light, almost airy, Haitian vetiver as well as a subtle leather. A placid drydown ensues. This high-quality composition is bright and fresh, and should prove to be very versatile. Having average projection and longevity, this scent will, indeed, shine in the spring, summer and fall.
and how can i forget - Diptyque's "VETYVERIO"
Le Vainqueur by Rancé 1795 works pretty well for summer.
To go along with the VIW I mentioned earlier, here are 3 that I find work great in very warm weather, at various price levels:
1) Creed Original Cologne
2) Tom Ford Neroli Portofino
3) Burberry Weekend
These 3 almost have a cooling quality about them. Very refreshing on the skin.
Creed millesime imperial
Creed virgin island water
Le labo Baie rose 26
D&G Light Blue
Versace Man Eau Fraiche
T. Mugler Ice*Men or Summer Storm
I. Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Intense
"I love fragrances because they provide a sheer endless variety: there is a scent for every occasion, mood or feeling. Standing before my collection in the morning matching a perfume to my needs is one of the most enjoyable things in my day". I don't want to miss that
Current Top 12 Spring: | Chanel Allure Blanche | Guerlain Homme Intense | Dior Fahrenheit | Givenchy pour Homme | Carolina Herrera for Men | Narciso Rodriguez Him | T. Mugler A*Men Sunessence | Trussardi Inside | C. Herrera Chic | Azzaro PH | M. Kors Michael for Men | Pal Zileri Sartoriale |
Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil might be worth a shot.
This Thread may be useful.
Cartier Roadster Sport is a nice, versatile summer scent. Make sure to test whatever you're leaning towards purchasing. Especially since you're having trouble, sampling first is your best bet in finding something that fits you well.
