Default Whats Your favorite Fragrance From The Frapin Line

I have recently been sampling Caravelle Epicee from a old sample and it brought back why I liked this one so much. I have not tried all of the Frapin line but the ones I have I like this one the best. I think it's warm spicy boozyness and nutmeg and cumin would make a great Fall/Winter scent. There is just something evocative with this fragarance that brings up images of sitting by a open fire in the late Fall while drinking mulled wine.

Whats your favorite fragrance from the Frapin line?

I liked 1270 and l'humaniste. If you like boozy frag, you will definitely like it. Give it a try!

I, too, would like to know what to check out. I haven't had the pleasure of exploring Frapin, but I would appreciate any direction of where I should begin.

L'Humaniste is one of the best "fresh" scents around. Big thumbs up.

1270 is also worth trying since it's quite different. Caravelle Epicee is alright. 1697 is not my cup of tea. And the rest aren't really worth mentioning IMO.

Note to self: I need to further explore this line.

Have only tried 1270 and Caravelle Epicee to date, and liked both equally.

We're all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; just different devils.

These two ^^^...Terre De Sarment it's nice too but a little too pale to my taste while 1697 has a fantastic boozy note but it gets too "chaotic" during the middle phase/ drydown...Not impressed at all by the others.

Checking out Luckscent reviews, seems either a Love-Hate relationship with this one. No middle ground.

Next order from them, will request sample to see for myself.

I relish the beautifully orchestrated gourmand of Frapin 1270. Initially, one is treated to a whiff of candied orange, lovingly coupled with peppered raisins and varied nuts, and floral hints glimmer as well. This pleasure-inducing opening yields to a exquisite stew of cognac, sandalwood and amber, which truly anchors the sweetness of the opening and avoids its cloying, so magnificently so, that the spiciness augments the potent, boosy concoction of the heart. These remarkable, middle notes binding with that promising opening truly transforms the senses to percieve a woodiness that conjures up aging barrels fattened by delightful and fruity cognac. Thence the soothing and warming base, with its honeyed vanilla and woods, beckons to a mellowing drydown. Singularly done, this lovely and unique gourmand fragrance, wherein the notes complement each other so wonderfully, has decent sillage and good longevity.

However, I found L'Humaniste by Frapin to be a commonplace composition, making it just another scent in its genre, in essence, pedestrian.

I've only sampled Caravelle Epicee so far and I'm quite impressed. It's a great fragrance, I'll have to get a bottle eventually and sample some others.

I've recently been testing this line and Caravelle Epicee is the only one I would buy (there are one or two others but only if they were very cheap). I agree with Hed, this is a true hit or miss line.

I enjoy 1270 a lot, Unfortunately the longevity isn't great on me. I'm looking forward to trying the new one though.

Only tried 1270 and Passion Boisee. The top notes are heaven! Wish for better sillage and longevity though.

Trying Epicee Caravelle at the moment and feeling like I am not being fair testing it in the muggy weather of the Bay Area this time of the year. All in all, I am picking up more cinnamon than I had ever imagined. That alongside a damp earthy accord seem to distance me from the fragrance. Lets not be in any doubt , EC is very cleverly executed but just does not wow me or make it a personal scent to live with and find special little nuances along the way. Seems all too loose and blunt in delivery to warrant much more appraisal for now.

-1270 (the only downside is weak longevity)
    - L'Humaniste
    - 1697

Caravelle Epicee is for an intense spice hit, very well done. L'Humaniste is a very charming lemon scented fragrance which I compare to Jubilation. 1270 is in a class of its own as far as boozy gourmand is concerned. I am happy to wear all three.

I actually got into them from hearing about l humaniste, but these are much better. I have samples of the whole house, but I can't remember what the rest smelled like. Being that I'm stuck with no lights sitting through a hurricane.....I'll have to check them out. They also have a new one called "speakeasy" coming out in September.
