Head Space in new and unused perfume bottle
Hi
I was wondering if I could get some help on this one.... I just brought a brand new bottle of Balenciaga 75ml on my way back into the country. It wasn't cheap and when I opened there is about a 1.5 - 2 cm space inside the bottle.
I get that there is usually some space inside yet have not seen before in all the perfumes I have brought and have ( quite alot ) this much head space.
I want to find out if this is worth doing something about ( getting in touch with the place of purchase) or is it normal. Im thinking that if Im paying soo much for a bottle of perfume and this is not right then I want to do something about it.
Thanks for any help out there..
P.s....there where no obvious signs of it leaking either.
Thanks

Check out these images and compare them with your bottle:

I have found some bottles have huge headspace-- like the Provence Santé line. It does vary from perfume to perfume.

Wow, the site that was offered ↑↑↑ for comparisions has varied spaces as well.
Hopefully, your bottle was not used for testing purposes, prior to your purchase.

Re: Head Space in new and unused perfume bottle
Thanks for getting back to me....the images are really varied and I brought t duty free and straight off the shelf sealed...wrapped and all...Im thinking it's meant to be like this....It's kind of hard to do anything about it now but will know for next time...
Having worked in a department store with fragrance I just got to wonder if every brand and bottle would vary so much and thought...Why would anyone design a bottle for it to have such a gap at the neck on purchase. In comparison to the Jimmy Choo I brought it's quite a significant difference..
Thanks again...great to be on this site...GOLD MINE!!!!

If the scent is genuine, I don't see the point in raising any hell about it. If it was a huge difference, then yes. But 1ml isn't worth the effort.
