Default Why aren't all perfume ads this sassy?

Don't know about you but for me this one beats all the swirling fabric, windswept blossoms and Mr and Ms Perfects that inhabit perfume adland with a little diamante whip-ette.

No idea what the fume smells like - probably a cheap stinker.

Hahaha. That's fantastic! I love it. Though I have to say it doesn't make me feel particularly confident about the fragrance itself...

Is this a real ad? The guy seems to have several music videos on the net. Conveying Luca Turin, this could have been a good candidate for the Angel ad; but perhaps he's a little too demure for that perfume.

    LOL!

Yeah, I'm generally feeling a lot more confidence in those swirly-dress Ms. Perfect fragrances!

I could go for some really realistic perfume ads. Like the smell of the ground when it first starts raining. Show me a shot of rain, and tell me the name of the fragrance. I don't need any models prancing through puddles to get me to buy.
The question that women casually shopping for perfume ask more than any other is this: "What scent drives men wild?" After years of intense research, we know the definitive answer. It is bacon. Now, on to the far more interesting subject of perfume.

Because it would lower sales, I'd assume.

This. I've never quite understood why food advertisements try to appeal to taste yet scent advertisements seem to be trying to hit a different sense entirely. Make me think I want to smell this, don't try to get me to date the model!

What has been largely covered before- market dynamics mainly decide what is bankable and socially expectable enough for perfume ads, as for virtually any activity field of economy.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azis for more info on Azis, the Bulgarian artist. Reading this made me wonder how risky the ad was for the perfume company. Azis ran for office, but an edgy part of the publicity campaign provoked a backlash.
