Default I really love the flint note in Terre d'Hermes...

I recently purchased Terre d'hermes and I absolutely love it. I especially like the flint note in it and I was wondering if there are any other colognes with a siilar note, or even similar notes like gunpowder or freshly struck match?

You'll probably like dry, peppery fragrances. The one really mineralic frag I can think of is Neil Morris Spectral Violet, but that is a HUGE violet scent mixed with something like stone or concrete - I doubt you would like it, unless you're a guy who likes big violet scents (not common).

Green Irish Tweed supposedly has a gunpowder note in it, but frankly I don't get it, and I'm quite familiar with the smell. Dry pepper and metallic scents tend to be closest.

You might like Un Parfum des Sens et Bois by the daughter (Celine) of the guy who did Terre d'Hermès. It has a dry cedar with a texture very close to stony and mineralic.

I like that bout the EDT as well. Even though the parfum looses that mineral/flint aspect to a large, if not absolute degree, I still prefer the parfum nonetheless. They are both great fragrances, however.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Amazingreen by Comme des Garçons lists a gunpowder note.

Lush Dirty also has a sort of flinty-sandy note below the mint.

Also, the Tauer base of many Tauer perfumes does have a mineralic, flinty quality, though it is very strong (eg Air du desert marocain, rose chypre, orange star, ...)

Hmmm, I haven't noticed that with Dirty, yet....though I've only worn it a few times so far. I'll try to pick it out more next time I wear it. Do like it, though...

I second Dirty. Here are some other fragrances with "supposed" mineral elements...

    Ambrarem
    Petroleum
    Fulgor
    Blood Type AB

If you like TDH, you will probably also like Cartier Declaration. The "mother" to TDH ;-)

I love the flint note in TdH too. It's one of my favourite compositions and that note really is the icing on the cake for me.

To be honest, I can't think of anything that is quite like it. It really is quite unique as far as the flint note goes. Maybe someone will chime in with a good suggestion in future, who knows?

Check out Sacre Coeur. It's sort of a wine/fruity ginger over patchouli earth and flint.

I love TdH too and that note

Halston Man Amber has a gunpowder/firecracker type note that I like too

Interesting. Thanks for that. I need to revisit it I think!

My acquaintances describe it as mineral, I perceive it as earthy, but whatever it is, it surely creates an uncommon and plesantly challenging drydown.

Seconded on Halston Man Amber (firecracker, especially in the opening) and Narciso Rodriguez for Him (wet concerte and cardboard, kind of)

I loved the original TDH edt, like the EDP a lot, but the latest EDT is weak in comparison. Just sold mine on eBay.
