If you liked Pure Oud, you will love Extreme Oud.
After smelling Extreme Oud, Pure Oud feels like an EDT.
EO is not only "oud amplified", it is a more complete picture.
I think Extreme Oud should have been labaled as Pure Oud in extract.
I've been sampling Pure Oud, by By Kilian, and quite enjoy it on me. A lot. Enough to consider opening my wallet and laying down the price of a bottle, which is not cheap.
But...reports of Extreme Oud intrigue. The oud note I love, even blended and balanced in European interpretations, so I'm not afraid of being disappointed by a sense of "Oh, not enough oud to make it worthwhile". Oud stands well on its own, but doesn't need to be lonely to be appreciated either. I'm not a purist.
Getting a sample of Extreme Oud seems completely hopeless, so its purchase would be a blind buy, and I'm a little leery of buying blind, especially at the $400+ CAD it would cost.
Is the Extreme Oud just the Pure Oud with the oud volume turned up? If one loves the Pure, is it likely the Extreme would also be loved? Or, is it a case of apples and oranges? Or, are they so similar that the Extreme would just be superfluous?
Any advice from those fortunate enough to have experienced both would be gratefully received!
Thank you very much for your opinions. I'll probably take the leap and buy blind. I've liked almost everything going on in what I've tried from By Kilian, but the Pure Oud was the first that made me want to acquire it. I'm happy to read that the EO is at least as lovely a fragrance, and more, than PO.
