Thread: Eau de patou??
My perfume store has EAU DE PATOU for $35 but there is no tester. Is it worth a blind buy??
yes yes yes
Eau de Patou is a wonderful, bright citrus / floral on a mossy base.
It works a treat in in hot weather (good for Florida, I'm guessing) and is just an all round quality scent. Longevity is pretty good, too.
It surprises me this doesn't get mentioned very often.

Why do I keep coming up with perfumes that aren't mentioned often??
Eau De Patou is a bright somewhat spicy citrus aromatic which is getting harder to find at non-inflated prices. Check the review page, too. (I love citrus aromatics so I may be biased) It is pretty respected, altho as Dr G says, it doesn't get too much notice these days.
G. has described it to the point and it certainly is a great buy (the price would often be three digits starting with a '1' ). Go, go, go! You can find pictures when googling for it.
I'm convinced! My beloved BN's have never let me down. My purchase of the day tomorrow!!!
I'll also reply with an emphatic yes, especially given the very reasonable price!
Wow, what a response!! This newbie is classing up because of your support.
My little perfume store is a mixed bag of older "gems" from the previous owners & a lot of celebrity fragrances that the new owner orders to move fast in this economy. I'm trying to learn fast so I can buy up the the old stock she has to offer. I got her only Helmut Lang at $35!!!
Going to scoop this one up tomorrow. And I'll probably bug you guys again about another unknown, dusty box that I find.

Here is a thread about Eau de Patou with some excellent insight provided by scentemental a few years back.
I have a few bottles, both the smooth and the ribbed. Slight difference but both are absolutely sublime - we won't see stuff like this anymore due to the IFRA, sadly.

yes!!! If it says Patou & came out about the mid 90's or earlier, just say YES!
How big is your shop's bottle? I did a quick ebay search & found a 100 ml for $60 shipped:
I'll chip in with another yes, this is a great fragrance. Don't let the citrus aspect fool you, its got longetivity!
Definitely a yes!

I say: Absolutely!!!!
My fravorite perfume ever. Brings very pleasant memories. It is a quality perfume. They don't make them like that anymore. Citrusy, great use of ylang, wonderful for summer (or rainy days!)
SOOOOO? where is your follow up report Mrs?
I'm not very good at describing scents yet & am still learning my notes, but here goes my first stab at it!
At first spritz I noticed very pleasant citrusy notes and some faint floral influence, but something else seemed to lurk in the background. A spicy note I liked but can't quite describe. Then a bit of musk or earth came through. The dry down was just a beautiful meld of all of the above in a soft but enduring way that carried me home & is just now dissipating. The citrus stood out the most for me & it smelled like summer. ( I'm sure I will some day look back at this novice post & grin. )
But I saved the best for last. I was mistaken about the price. It was $25.00!
OMG! Does she have any more on the shelf???
You enjoy your score Mrs!
Doggit! I'm just now seeing this. It's very much worth it! I bet they are all gone by now. Any left?

Hi Jkidd. What a shocker to see my thread resurrected! I haven't been there for about a month, but the only other one she had was unboxed & very dark in color, which is why I didn't snap it up as well. What a sad waste of a great perfume!
