Thread: Fan di Fendi

    Default Fan di Fendi

Just smelled this one today in Sephora and for me it's a toned down/less sweet version of Black XS. Maybe a little bit more powdery/dusted.

I use to love their life essence but don't have any other experience with the house. Is this a thumbs up or down?
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Fan di Fendi Pour Homme is an unexpectedly high quality fragrance. Fortunately, it doesn't really remind of Black XS. To me Fan di Fendi is a perfect example of the whole mainstream masculine perfumery in one bottle. It starts quite citrusy with powdery undertones, but soon transforms into a modern fruity tonka accord (1 million, Spicebomb etc.) Finally the base note of leather (I feel vetiver as well though it is not listed) completely changes the scent. The base sounds green and natural, it makes the fragrance sophisticated yet modern and saves it from from excessive sweetness. I feel the signature of Francois Demachy here. Nice work.

Longevity is good, projection is average or good.

Thanks AntonPan for the review and clarificantion that it is not a Black XS carbon copy - I am really looking forward to sampling this one if and when it makes its showing in the US.

Wearing this second day I noticed that in the dry down the scent becomes somewhat sour and begins to remind of Xerious Rouge / Azzaro Pour Homme Elixir, but less powdery and with less bold cherry note. Do not really like this transformation.

Fan di Fendi reminded me of Memoir D'homme by Nina Ricci, a discontinued underrated frag.
I get no leather, just cedar and incense, with just a tinge of sweetness. This feels more of a dark fragrance, definitely not for the 1 Million crowd....Bottle is tacky though : )

Overall a nice effort for mainstream, in the lines of Bang.
