Question Please school me on LŽArtisan Parfumeur

IŽm a bit overstrained by their vast choice of Fragrances. Although I saw that they categorize them into groups (citrus, oriental...), itŽs still hard to choose a few to sample first.

Some fragrances that I like: Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, Tuscan Leather and For Men, Creed Tabarome and Aventus, Amouage Memoir, Mark Birley Charles Street.
Some fragrances that I strongly dislike/hate: Serge Lutens Chergui and Daim Blond, all Kilians, Thierry Mugler Pure Havane (all of which are too sweet for me), all Nasomatto (strange to say the least), Knize Ten (brutal, old), John Varvatos Vintage.

    What can be recommended?

Love this house and count 50 of theirs in my collection. I'll recommend three: Tea For Two, Mechant Loup, & Coeur De Vetiver Sacre but there are many other good ones which I'm sure others will point out.

Add to this is Dzing, a leather with a very light gourmand touch.
"No sweet perfume ever tortured me more than this." Desert Rose by Sting and Cheb Mami, Album 1999.

I've only tried (and currently own) Tea for Two, but I love it. Smoky, slightly sweet black tea and spices.

Timbuktu and Tea for Two are my favorite from this house, both worth owning imo.

I love Fou d'Absinthe, and based on what you like I'll bet you would too. Also own and enjoy Tea for Two, and Mechant Loup might get picked up as a nice fall fragrance sometime soon.

stay away from Voleur de Roses, and Timbuktu i doubt it you will like it.
Instead try, Fou d'absinth and perhaps to a lesser degree Poivre Piquant.

    Hi twin!
Hello! I couldn't recommend Seville and Passage because I haven't smelled them. Though I've heard great things about them.

I got a free standard shipping email from L'Artisan, no code runs until the 14th September. Now I am in the UK, so not sure if its only here?

Although obviously made of very high quality ingredients, they are either too sweet (sth, toh, btb), too feminine or develop very strange on my skin. I really wanted to like them, but unfortunately they just arent for me. I like his approach though, and that you can get all of his fragrances cheaper if you dont need the fancy bottle.

This was all just IMHO of course. As I said, I like his approach, but TOH develops a sticky sweet note on my skin. Thats a shame as I like the opening. Glad you like it
