I need a long-lasting winter fragrance and I decided to try L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme. However it is impossible to find the EDP version in my country.
Do you think that these two differ much in terms of longevity?
I experience poor longevity from most colognes and I need an alternative to La Nuit de L'Homme. Something with a slightly better longevity will do.
Will the longevity of EDT version satisfy my needs?

i cant find the extreme anywhere but ebay i just dont want to pay that much looks like im going to have to since i emailed guerlain an have it shipped will be almost as much as the fragrance itself
They are different in terms of longevity and they smell quite a bit different too. I get slightly better projection and longevity out of La Nuit de L'homme than L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme. Extreme beats them both, obviously, since it's an EDP.
ok then.. it seems I need to wait to go abroad to stock L'Instant Extreme. Until then La Nuit is the only choice
I also searched the forum and realized that most people think the same about EDT being weak.
I have both and on my skin I get good longevity from both, but better longevity with the Extreme.
well, I should learn to be patient and buy the extreme version abroad. My skin really drinks all except really durable scents.
However I've seen some posts mentioning the difficulty of finding extreme version in other countries.
I occasionally go to Belgium for business.
I don't have much hope but perhaps I will be able to find extreme version in Brussel.
You will find it in Belgium.
Personally I don't like either but I was at the Guerlain boutique in Toronto and they told me they will ship for free if you phone in...I assume in Canada but maybe it's worth a call to see if the US is included as well.
To answer the OP's original question on longevity...yes, the EDP lasts longer. The EDT lasts anywhere from 4-8 hours as a skin scent for me, while the EDP can easily eclipse 24 hours. If you are still on the hunt for it, I'd say don't give up...it's well worth the time to find and add to your collection IMO.
Spraying on fabric helps both last longer (wool and cashmere especially). On my skin, both have good longevity with the EDP lasting longer.
Cheers . . . Wally
You can buy LIDGE from beauty-enhancement for pretty much MSRP, and its legit. Its out of the UK I believe but they do ship to the US.
