Nice bottle and note list as long as the heliotrope isn't super dominant

I'm looking forward to trying this one, although I haven't been crazy about his recent releases, I love Black Tourmaline and enjoy Rock Crystal as well. It's difficult to tell from the listed notes what this one will smell like, but I'm thinking that it might lean toward the feminine side of unisex. We'll see. I just checked Lucky Scent and they don't have it yet.

    I got a sample yesterday.

It smells balmy-woody in the opening with a mark of piney aroma, then it gets warm, spicy with a ligh touch of incense I believe. All the way it is also lightly sweet and musky. And the juice color is beautiful.

Just thought I'd follow up on my earlier hunch that this would lean feminine. Having now smelled it, I really don't think it does. It's a nice spicy incense fragrance. I don't think I need it right now, but I do prefer it over his last few offerings, and would certainly wear it if I had it. Anybody who is a fan of this house should definitely try it.

It's a very nice fragrance. Works well in colder weather because of the hot spice as opposed to Citrine (lemon incense) which I think is better with a little warm weather. I like Heliotrope by OD very much. This is my favorite incense off the shelf right now - wore it today.

When it opens it has a bit of sweetness from the heliotrope, magnolia, blood mandarin + spice from chilli pepper and ginger then an incense smell which is reminiscent of Sequoia by CDG. After a while it changes to more of a pine woods that is also leathery - smells like Parfumerie Generale probably from the myrrh nagaramotha/cypriol. At no time did I actually smell heliotrope, but I am sure that is in there as well. I am guessing the name heliotrope was selected because it sounds good. Nice color too. Smells like Sequoia at first then dries down to more like PG Querelle. Very well done.

Olivier Durbano tries hard to attract Arabian market with Heliotrope imo. Generic saffron + spice dominant scent lacks character...
