Default Suggestions for a long-time lurker (Prize goes to winner)

First off, you Basenoters have been awesome. I have learned a tremendous amount from some of you, and I have grown to respect you guys as a community.

I need a suggestion. I like sweeter smells, along with fruity undertones. Smooth, sweet, citrusy...anything along those lines. The scent must be masculine, however. Price does not matter!!!

    Examples of what I like.

Creed Aventus (I love the Pineapple in it)
    YSL L'homme and La Nuit
    Paco Rabanne 1 Million
Clinique Happy (i know, i know)
    Boss (oldie but goody)

I tend to shy away from Spicy colognes.

If I chose your suggestion, and I dig it, I will contact you to send you a special goody bag. I promise it will be worth your while

Not knowing what your wardrobe includes already, I'd suggest:
    Jaipur Homme by Boucheron
Habit Rouge (EDP is better than EDT imo)
    Colonia Acqua di Parma
1+ Arabie however it's a little spicy but not extremely so

Take a look at Rivages des Syrtes from MCDI-wonderful pineapple and incense, the nose is Patricia de Nicolai
or maybe Eau de sud-Annick Goutal

    These frags are considered unisex.

    Good luck in your hunt.

    You might enjoy the following:
Pulp (Byredo) Very juicy, fruity fragrance with a good, but not overpowering fig note. Monstrous longevity and insane projection.
Aoud 1 (Parfumerie Bruckner) Gorgeous pineapple, vanilla and oud fragrance. Class in a bottle.
Reflection Man (Amouage) Very refined, excellent longevity and projection. Amazing scent.
Black Orchid (Tom Ford) Dark, mysterious but smooth and bursting with chocolate, truffles, patchouli; feels velvety to me.
Tom Ford for Men Extremely classy. Mandarin and bergamot give way to a beautiful, sophisticated dry down.
Tom Ford Extreme: Darker than Tom Ford for Men but an amazing fragrance.
Tuscan Leather (Tom Ford): Raspberry and leather. Lasts forever.

    and a cheapie:

HM (Hanae Mori): Sweet almost sherbet lemon opening, floral, vanilla dry down.

Chanel pour Monsieur Concentree or Tiffany for men- both lovely citrus with smooth drydowns. Class all the way.

Acqua di Parma Colonia- A classic with beautiful citrus and gentle rose that follows- a class act as well.

Bond no 9: Bleecker Street. (link to Fragrantica reviews)

I'm also a fan of Aventus. Happy was a signature scent when I lived in the south (due to the hot weather). I enjoy La Nuit.
I was really impressed by Bleecker Street. REALLY.

    - - - Updated - - -

Also, I have a feeling you'd enjoy Michel, Germain Tattoo. It's only $10 at Ross/Marshalls for a 3.4 oz. Tattoo is dirt cheap and quite nice, but Bleecker Street is a WOW!

Be sure to try Creed Virgin Island Water. Don't just sniff it on paper - *wear* a good 4-6 sprays. It really opens up on skin. It yanks the same chain as Aventus, only more subtly. I think you'll like it.

PS - glad to see you starting to post!

PPS - good recommendations, Alvus. CH Men is a nice one.

Lovely stuff. Leafy fig and milky coconut on a smooth sandalwood base. Sweetish but well balanced, modern yet solid, sophisticated yet easy to wear...just lovely.

Sometimes I think that half of the people posting don't read anything other than the thread topic, which makes for some 'interesting' suggestions.

Anyway, for two fragrances that are both economical and applicable to your request:

    - Silver by Al-Rehab
    - Ed Hardy's Love and Luck by Christian Audigier (being totally serious)

You can find both on ebay easily and could probably buy both for less than $40 (I think I paid $7 for Silver).

Histories de parfum 1725 (top - bergamot, citrus, licorice; middle - lavender, star anise; base - vanilla, almond, sandalwood, cedar, amber) - to my nose, 1725 epitomizes sweet and smooth and does have citrus in the top

    Are you kidding me??

Taken from the luckyscent description: "Full of dark drama and positively loaded with exotic spices"
Taken from the Fragrantica description: "Arabie was inspired by eastern spice shops; it is an exquisitely warm spicy fragrance"
Taken from a review on Fragrantica: "It's so spicy that it's almost mouthwatering. I've never been to eastern spice shops, but I can imagine this is exactly how it smells there"

I'm going to have to strongly disagree with you on this one Oslo, Arabie is one of the most intensely spiced scents I've ever smelled.

I find both Hermes Un jardin sur le Nil and Un Jardin En Mediterranee to be quite sweet, and they are both very fruity.

Hermes Ambre Narguile is very, very sweet, and is a baked/stewed apple and raisins (but I wouldn't call it fruity, its more like Strudel!)

CK Euphoria Men Intense is like Strawberry Syrup.

Chanel Allure Edition Blanche is the most mentioned sweet citrusy frag, but I have a trump card. The only Citrus Gourmand for men I know of. Paco Rabanne UltraRed Man. Its a limited edition so its getting tricky to find. Crazy sweet. Does for Oranges what Black XS does for berries.

    Back to Black by Kilian!

Notes are: Bergamot, raspberry, blue chamomile, cardamom, coriander, saffron, cedarwood, vanilla, almond, vetiver, cistus labdanum, patchouli, oakmoss.

You and I have opposite tastes, but given your preferences (sweet, fruity, smooth) you may go bonkers for this.
