Today I'm wearing Frapin L'Humaniste.
Thread: SOTD Sunday 16 September 2012 |
Ah, Sunday here we are. I unearthed a few samples from the disordered piles on my dressing table, so now I'm wearing a multitude of scents from forearms to knuckles:
Angel Sunessence
Fumerie Turque
Borneo 1834
Madini Ambergris Oil
Ambra Nera
and some byspray from filling a Travalo with my new Habit Rouge EDP.
Being an old Angel hand from way back, I'm considering the Sunessence for summer wear. It's not quite as sledgehammerish as original Angel, which I've pretty much given up wearing.
Today I'm wearing Frapin L'Humaniste.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Hello all. A sample of Balmain Ivoire 2012. Noticed something interesting on the card, says its 78% vol. Usually edp is 80+.

Hi G.!
I'm not far off... Caron Poivre for me.
Creed Aventus. Almost 1,000 posts devoted to batch numbers alone - had to try this!
Good Sunday all.
Good morning, nice smelling folks!
While I completely and politely disagree with both hedonist and iodine -- not my thang is that too sweet lavender and spice -- I am somewhat rested after a short trip out of town and ready to face the music of another day. In Fragrance C from the Blind Sniff (Sturm und Drang).
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." What I am loving right now: Shalimar vintage extrait, Chanel Bois des Iles, Chanel no. 22, Le Labo Iris 39, Guerlain Iris Ganache

The last bit from my MFK Amryis sample
Hello everyone!
I'm in LouLou this morning, 80s edp.
Jon - whatever did y'all do with all your blackberries? We have some now, too - I'm thinking of making a big ol' crusty cobbler.
lilybelle - I have lots to tell you about but I need to check a few things regarding Réveillon ...several restaurants offer special menus for it, but I'm not sure which will actually be open after Midnight Mass. I won't leave you hanging too long - I promise!![]()
Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan

Good afternoon.
Revisiting Gardenia Petale today. Seemed appropriate for this gloriously sunny afternoon.
Do happy
Wow! Do report back! G, you smell so good I want to throw myself at your feet. I can just picture it. You saying, "Oh for goodnes sake, get up!!" Ha Ha.
With hellkelpie in Habit Rouge, except I'm drenched in it. Reading the papers, eating chocs, seeing you guys. Cooking later. Happy Days!!
Evangeline, please take your time! It is still months away. About Christmas Eve, I didn't even hope that any restaurant offering a Réveillon menu would be open so late. I was just hoping something would be open for a drink and a bite. Thank you so much again! It is very good of you to go to the trouble and I am grateful.
I'm wearing Eau Arpege. I love the bottle, a rectangle with the square cap like in Jujy's avatar. There are no sharp corners, they are actually octagons. Its simplicity and elegance of classic proportion, the intaglio logo in the screw-on cap, the amber color of the juice (old), all are delightful. Sometimes I need visual beauty that is spare and serene. And the scent is a reminiscence of days long gone...I love the creamy sandalwood especially.
Hooray for Evangeline, representing Loulou! You know, I tried it again the other day after seeing your comments on the Loulou thread, and I think you're right: the old formula is not really brash. More sultry in an introverted way. Interesting how adjectives that get repeated about a fragrance seem to stick, even when they don't totally fit.
I'm in a combination of old formula Jovan Musk oil on the pulse points, Reminiscence Patchouli spray+walkthrough, and Caron Pour Un Homme liberally applied to the arms. The combination isn't so heady as it might sound, really very softly herbal. I cannot stop wearing Pour Un Homme; I've sneaked it four or five times this week, sleeping in it three more times! A first serious and unexpected specific scent addiction.
Hope you all enjoy the remaining weekend! I'm off to sing A Sunday Kind of Love.

Don't panic. Just stay calm, and reload....
Sounds like a great idea !. We made apple and blackberry crumble, miniature pies, pancakes, and took on board your suggestion, concocting a vodka based liqueur. Will be looking forward to sampling it over the festive season. We've still got plenty left so have frozen the rest.
