Default Clive Christian no.1 VS Amouage Gold

I own Amouage Gold, and use it for special occasions. A big, bold, luxurious and sophisticated scent IMO. I haven`t tried Clive Christian no.1 yet, but a sample is on the way! Some people say it`s similar to Gold, but with fruit instead of flowers. Which one do you prefer, and why?

I've smelled the Amouage but didn't think much of it. I have the Clive Christian no.1 Pure Parfum in my collection and love it. Very rich and well made. Much better than the Amouage IMO.

hednic, I was hoping you might have something to say. I think Gold and #1 are opposites at the extreme end. I persoanally can't stand the civet in Gold. It smells like cat piss on grandmas throw rug to me. Now #1 is absolute bliss. It really lives up to all the hype and huge price tag. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like both, but find neither worthy of purchase at their relatively lofty price points. That said, I prefer Number 1 for Men as it is the more wearable of the two. If you like and own Gold Man, I suspect Number 1 for Men will appeal to you plenty.

Unfortunately, I have not smelled the Clive Christian. Are we talking about Gold man or woman? these are two different beast, the woman apparently much reformulated from its original self.

Are you speaking about the 30ml pure perfume or the 50ml Spray?

Amouage Gold is the only fragrance so far that makes me feel sick. It smells of death. Clive Christian No 1 on the other hand is just lovely - especially during the winter. Love the tonka and fruit in it. Harder to wear when it's hot, then it actually vaguely reminds me of Gold.

I like No.1 much better but don't consider it FBW at this point in time considering the price.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?
