Default If you completely stopped buying fragrances...

and used all of the fragrances you currently have in your collection at the normal rate you would apply daily, how long would it take for you to run out (approximation)?

I'm still getting my feet wet in the fragrance world so I was also hoping people could make an estimate for me as well. I own:

    2, 2.5 oz (75 ml) with <5%
    1, 3.4 oz (100 ml) with 97%
    1, 3.4 oz (100 ml) with 100%
and a sample at .06 oz

I use about 4-5 sprays in the morning and 3-4 after work. I'm just curious to see how loaded down this community is on their scents.

I could probably wear perfume every day until I die, even if I live to be 90, without buying another bottle.

You have 100 + 97 + 2*75*0.05 (let's take 5ml) +.06*29.5735=207.3 ml of juice. You use 4.5 + 3.5=8 sprays a day. Let us assume you use x ml of juice per spray. Then per day you use 8x ml of juice, so your current stock would last you 207.3/8x=25.913x days.

I saw a chart once that said for the "average" spritzer on a bottle it would take about 500 days to use a 100ml bottle up if you sprayed 3 pumps/application. (300 Days to use up a 100ml bottle if you spritzed 5 pumps/application). For me that is about 8 1/2 years.

Thanks for the equation! I've heard around 7-8 sprays equals a ml so I could just use 8 and make it simple. That would give me exactly 207.3 days. (207.3/8(.125))

Too much for me to calculate ...

I agree with the above calculations. I'd say though 10 sprays per ml is more normal. So yes, between 200 and 300 days. However, you are probably the only person around here who currently owns only 2 bottles. Something tells me this will change soon for you.

If I count every bottle I own, I have enough to last several decades. But if I'm only counting the 20 or so bottles I genuinely love and intend to use up, I could finish those in ten years or so.

Many of the items in my collection only get worn a few times a year, and I don't like them enough to make them core members of my rotation, and as such will never finish them.

I highly doubt you're going to live that long. 12 years is too long for someone who sprays 30 sprays a day. the cancer will catch up to you and you will die.

If I poured them all into on bucket, I would be able to top off a 5gallon bucket.

I'd guess I have proabably a gallon of Niche, 1.5 gallons of Designer and the rest is failed TJMAXX and ROSS blind Buys, Nasty avon and Mary Kay garbage bought for pennies at garage and yard sales.

I would think that this should last a small village three lifetimes. ABSURD. I need to get to my 500 posts mark so I can start selling in the sale thread!

A sea burial on a sea of perfume? It would produce quite a (fragrant) explosion, were the funerary boat lit with an arrow after the fashion of the Vikings.
