I stopped by a garage sale this afternoon and found a bottle of Prada Amber for ... get this: $1! It looks practically full, barely used at all.
    I've trademarked the color bleu

Thanks, Knit! I have been lusting after that mirrored Beau Cavalier bottle for a while, not to mention the Louis XVI bottles.

Wow! Anxious to hear what you think about the Shalimar PI flanker. And that bottle of HR in the vintage flacon is so cute. A HR fan, like you, deserves to own it.

I was anti Parfum Initial pretty hard core for a while, and all of the modern Guerlains for that matter. I sort of blamed them for the demise of the Guerlain that was a towering monument of classic French perfumery.

That aside, Guerlain is a pretty fantastic modern house with interesting mainstream releases and a very respectable niche line. I still wish that the old Guerlain hadn't died but I'm realizing that I like a lot of the new stuff if I don't try to compare it to the old stuff.

I still haven't given PI l'Eau a full wearing, but I loved it when I tested it. It's a bright summery iris, and I'm a sucker for iris. It has barely a ghost of Shalimar in there, but that's not really the point for me with this one. Now I need to go back and try the original PI again.

And, yes, I think the little HR is pretty adorable too! It's going to stay in the box ...

Mike I have Shalimar PI L'Eau and it has the very best iris note in the Guerlain mainstream range. I find something a tiny bit edible in there too. Big draw back is the first 5 minutes of hairspray fog which make me cough. Worth persevering though for the beauty that appears from this unpromising chrysalis.

Gorgeous haul Rubugon. Moi jealous? Of course pea green in fact

Had a little shopping trip yesterday and brought home current Mitsouko EdP in the refillable case as a gift and a 30ml Guerlain L'Instant EdP for me.

Not going to adopt the Lyn Harris for M&S Poudre until next time I visit Megahell. Which will probably be after work tomorrow as I have something on order from Bobbie Brown.

Gone a little mad on eBay and treated my addiction to a couple of fixes. A part bottle of vintage Houbigant Chantilly in box and a vintage quadrilobe unopened 50ml of Guerlain Chant D'Arome.

Wow teardrop, big congrats to you! Stoned seems right up your alley. Enjoy!!

That's a very pretty bottle, iris 983 - is the fragrance beautiful, too?

Thanks to cestrum nocturnum's mention of it in kalli's spicy thread, I've just ordered a new bottle of Costes edt, which will be my second. I thought for a while that I didn't need to replace it once it ran out since it reminds me so much of Safran Troublant that it seemed redundant ...but then I talked myself into it again.

I'm too happy, i found a full 100ml of Artisan parfumeur - Fleur d'Oranger 2005 at a very reasonable price, this stuff becomes rare and expensive these days and it's one of my favorite orange blossom ever (the most "alimentary" one).

OK, so I fell so head over heels in live with Une Voix Noire that I ended up pulling the trigger on that as well. Now am banned for the rest of the year, seeing as I spent more than a month's rent of fragrances this month.

    Oooh Congrats!

I've been meaning to get myself a bottle of Fleur d'Oranger as well, and they do turn up every now and again on ebay, but it's mostly a partially full 2007 edition. There was ONE 2005 edition, the full bottle bearing the number 2, and that went for an astronomical amount. I mean, I don't know how much the final bid was, but when there were still three days for the auction to end, the highest bid was $785. I wouldn't be surprised if it went for north of $1K.

Wow, it's a really crazy price, i didn't know an Artisan parfumeur bottle could go so high (for info i paid mine 80 euros).
Séville à l'aube can be a nice substitution to wait the day (if it comes...) they will release another batch.

Lol, one of the most expensive tubes of lipstick I've ever bought. Also, my first fb of niche I've bought. I'd go through this bottle quickly as it disappears off the skin...will think about it.

You describe PI L'Eau so much better than I. I agree, except that it has some stiff competition for the best Guardian iris note from Iris Ganache, L'Heure Bleue, Apres L'Ondee, and Insolence...

It is absolutely delicious stuff. Get it while you can! It's discontinued, and when it's gone its gone for good. That's what pushed me over the fence.

I've added another to the vault recently. A pristine Marly vintage 30ml Shalimar extrait.

I do know how to bid on eBay though. Pristine bottle of Houbigant Rafinee in the original bottle.
