Default Something similar to John Varvatos Original?

I really like JV Original but my skin burns the scent within 2-4 hours. I get left with a dull vanilla after about 2-4 hours. The dull vanilla will last for up to 15 hours.

Is there a fragrance that has a similar opening as JV Original, but that has better longevity? Or does someone have a 'trick' to making this great smell last longer?

The aftershave is great for this one and there used to be a lotion for it, as well but haven't seen it for sale in a while. Depending on your market you may be able to track down both. An SA at Nordstrom's told me that she had even seen soap, shampoo, and a body wash for the line but they never carried it. West coast or east coast stores may have it under the counter if you ask in enough places. If that's not an option try applying an unscented lotion to your chest and arms before applying the scent. And as always with the short-lived or ephemeral ones, always, always, always angle the bottle so that you are applying at least one or two sprays to the inside of your shirt.

I noticed that the fragrances would last longer when they are inside the shirt (chest level). I'll try and track down the lotions/aftershave. Thanks!

Yup. That really works for me - especially with this scent. 2 to the chest. Put on your shirt IMMEDIATELY. It helps. If I could find a scent similar to JV Original with better longevity, I'd certainly be tempted.

I've only done 1/2 sprays, 1 max, on the chest. I am going to try two sprays immediately. Thanks for the tip!

One on the chest, one on the neck. Ask a friend if they can still smell you (do this 5-6 hours later)

Swap won't be necessary but I'll definitely check it out. Thanks.
