I don't see any problem. Use it sparingly and you (and your coworkers) are safe. A very natural, close to skin, animalic smell.

    No, it's just neurotic hyperbole...

People really should compare it to Ajmal's AA Pure Indian Musk Gazelle (second version) to gain some perspective. If you really think MKK is that stinky then how do you lot cope using a bloody lavatory? Just cut the exaggerated bullsh*t, please. Geez!

So let me get this straight. Because you can name a frag that is even more offensive than MKK, that means it *is* OK to wear MKK to the office? Seriously, dude?
As far as using a lavatory (public or otherwise), we have no choice in doing that. But we *do* have a choice not to wear a frag that has fecal notes and could offend many people...

I guess I must not care about my co-workers either. I wear whatever I feel like in the morning Including MKK. I had a decant for a while and I just picked up a whole bottle. Love the stuff.

I've held my tongue on this issue for several years but I'm pretty much getting sick and tired of it. MKK is a soft floral musk with a slight animalic nuance that's not particularly overwhelming. Yes, body chemistry may be crucial but there are tons of skankier oils and fragrances out there.

The main point I'm trying to make is that there is too much misinformation about what MKK smells like. As for offending people, there'll always be someone who isn't 'contented' (especially in the US it seems).

This more or less captures how I feel about what I read too often about MKK. Its skanky/fecal/whatever reputation is wildly, wildly exaggerated, especially after 20-30 minutes of drydown. I've worn it on a number of dates and, fearful of the hyperbole such as found here, have been self conscious and asked my dates. Not one of them understood the "controversy" (yes, in quotes) surrounding it, even if they didn't love it. And the reason being: as was said, it's a soft, musky floral. I find it to be an exceptionally beautiful one. If you like it, wear it. If you love it, wear it to work and feel good about it. Don't let the played-out MKK-bashing put you off from your passion for a fragrance.

So much hyperbole here, i agree. MKK is not as beastly as it is popularly described here. I wear it well even in my tropical environment and what is really perceived is the floral and musky aspects. "Butt-crack" and all that remain exclusively on these boards.

Wear what you want etc., but it's not a discreet fragrance if that's what you want. Personally i love it and i found that 1-2 sprays are not enough for me. Usually wear it only at nights out.

What this man says. I wear it for office, and I'm one of those "safe" fragrances guy. Just one spray under the shirt and I usually layer it with a sweet fragrance -try layering this with one spray Back to Black for instance- The animalic skin-scentlike musk of MKK captures and embraces the sweetness, you'll get whiffs under your neck while you move, really good effect.

I don't even slightly get the "butthole" or "men's crotch" references

Yes. It projects clean and smells nice.
Even if you get dirty notes from it, others in your vicinity will have a totally different experience. That is if they even smell it, as it sits relatively close to the skin.

I guess I just don't understand why, with the thousands of other safer frags out there, someone would want to gamble going to work with a scent that so many describe as dirty, fecal, etc. In the right environment (like with a bunch of guy friends), it is one thing to experiment with a controversial scent. But in an office, with men and women, why risk it?

I would say that it depends on your workplace. I do get the men's crotch vibe from it, combined with some powdery rose, although I don't get anything particularly fecal. My partner thinks it smells like a homeless person. YMMV. If you're inclined to be worried about it, I'd say wear it elsewhere. The one time I wore it to work, I got a compliment on it from a female co-worker. I think a lot of people - male and female - would find the smell of a clean man's crotch with a dusting of rose powder a sexy smell.
