Default Les Nombres d'Or - Vanille

I have a chance to blind-buy Mona di Orio's Vanille. I have read several reviews, anyone try it/own it? What are your thoughts? I have tried many of MdO's fragrances and own Vetyver.

I've tried it and think it's very nice.

If you like vanilla, you'll probably like it. It's not a very foody vanilla to me, which (to me) makes it more wearable than others. I love Mona's style, though, and own four of her other perfumes.

I don't think it's been discontinued, though, so you should be able to blind buy it whenever you like. Can you get a sample?

I own it and although I like it very much, I feel it has very little to do with vanilla. It's there in the background but it has more of a spicy/orange feel to it than vanilla. Very well made but don't expect a lot of vanilla out of this one.

I have a sample and I like the fragrance. It's complex and the vanilla is not too sweet.

It's great. Lots of clove and a slight boozy feel.

Its a great fragrance from the "Les Nombres d'Or" Line. If you like it, you should also checkout the rest of the line. Mona was an artist and amazing at her craft

It is my favorite vanilla scent. Like others have mentioned, it is not very sweet and adds in a nice spiced boozy mix. Next to Vetyver, it is my favorite from the house.

I recently blind bought this and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I'm interested to compare it to the Guerlain SDV I bought a couple weeks ago.

I know I should've sampled first, but I really enjoy the thrill of blind buying.

I wonder if how we emotionally connect to a scent is different when it's blind bought vs. tested extensively and purchased. I feel like I love some of my blind buys more intensely than scents I test out first, maybe because I invested more in research/reading and enjoy correctly guessing what it smells like. Sometimes, it's almost as if I love a scent before I even try it.

Or, perhaps I blind buy so often, I just happened to blind buy those frags that became my favorites...

Anyway, I'll post my thoughts on Vanille when it comes in.

In my opinion they don't share many similarities, even being vanilla scents.

I agree with everyone's assessment of this composition.

It isn't very "vanilla-y", yet you can detect it. You will definitely get the orange, and rum.

<<<What this looks like is what it smells like. Orange push up, vanilla extract, and rum.

With a slight touch of leather and woods (in the opening), it makes this fragrance more masculine than unisex imo.

Has great longevity and moderate projection with it strongest during the first 3-5hrs.

As I described to another BN'er this fragrance is a dark and mysterious take on vanilla, rather than a straight in your face vanilla.

This is a great fragrance, I say go for it.

One of the best vanilla based frags out there. It's dry, spicy, woody, vanilla. It has this European vibe of vanilla. Classy and sophisticated. Get it!
