    Default cologne for the Caribbean

Anyone one here live in the Caribbean?

I am going to Jamaica soon and have been told not to wear perfume because the scent will attract mosquitoes - however i'm addicted to smelling good.

Just wondering what scents i can wear whilst out there if at all

    any advice?

I was in the Carribean Island of Grenada over the New year and I wore Guerlain Homme L'eau which was very cooling, the mosquitoes will come after you whatever you wear the fact your fresh blood they will find you.

The wife and I go to Jamaica a lot (she's from there originally and we have a house there); the scents really do not bring the mosquitoes as much as they say - they're drawn to the CO2 we breath out, not scents. With that said, wear whatever you want - I tend to wear Bond No. 9 Bleecker Street & Manhattan, Grey Vetiver, Creed Original Vetiver & Windsor, Chanel Allure Edition Blanche and many others.

But I do suggest using Jungle Juice from REI for your extremities though. You'll smell like you "come from farrin'" to the locals, but you'd be wise to take some precautions against the mosquitoes.

    Enjoy your time there.

Don't live there but frequent there often. Another for Monsieur Balmain

Been to Negril 4 times YES the bugs are out of control but that didn't stop me from smelling nice.

Maybe try Acqua Di Gio ESSENZA. Tom Ford Neroli Portofino or Patchouli Intense by Parfums de Nicolai

Why bring sand to the beach.

Need to wear something dark heavy leather or smoky fragrance... contrast is good.

Or you can go for the safe option and wear 100% Deet

Can I be honest... I just refuse to wear VIW in Jamaica. I guess since it's just so expected. But that's me. Great scent; but somebody said it above: why bring sand to the beach?
