Default Any similarties between Bentley Intense and Straight to Heaven?

So I thought I'd treat myself to a random niche fragrance from the names that frequently appear on these forums, like spinning a globe and deciding to travel to where your finger lands, and I ordered a sample of Straight to Heaven without doing any research into the notes. I haven't received it yet and decided to look into the notes (the reverse approach!) and what struck me was the similarity in notes to Bentley Intense which I adore( I've probably posted about it so much I sound like a Bentley Salesman). Obviously the notes are just on paper, but I was curious about the opinions of those that sampled both, did you find any similarities? Reading reviews of both the notes of rum, cedar and patchouli are very prominent?

Further question that stuck me as odd in reviews for Straight to Heaven, is it suitable for warmer weather? Reading the notes I wouldn't suspect that at all, which is why some reviews mentioning that it was great all seasons surprised me.

Personally don't get any similarity between the two.

Cruel Intentions could be cousins for sure with Bentley Intense. I really can't stand the Bentley, but I love the Kilian. The Kilian reminds me of M7 sometimes as well. That sweet-ish incense, woody oudy type thing going on.

Edit: I'm editing because I mixed up the kilian for Cruel Intentions, which is the one I was thinking about. Straight to heaven smells nothing like the Bentley.

They both share a boozy spicy theme, but smell quite different.

Almost ZERO in common IMO. Bentley for Men Intense is much heavier than StH. StH is sharper, crisper, and lighter than the incense-heavy Bentley for men Intense.

Yes, I love Straight to Heaven in the summer - that's when it works best. I don't wear it in the colder weather, it has a sharpness that works great in the warm weather.

Bentley for Men Intense just seems like a lesser version of Lubin Idole EDP to me, but I am in the minority - most people here seem to love it. I thought it was decent, but I couldn't shake the Idole EDP similarities, and it just doesn't quite measure up.

I agree with JiveHippo - Bentley Intense is more syrupy and thick boozy, whereas straight to heaven is more restrained, balance and nuanced.

Bentley Intense to STH is like a Pure Maltose to Toffee date pudding. Quite different but both good depending on what one wants...

Other than the fact that I own them both, no similarities at all.

They share only the rum note, not much else.

    Note.

    StH is pretty much run.

    BI is much more complex.
    A warm suede concoction.
