Default Is There a Popular Fragrance House You Haven't Tried?

Since I am still new on my frag journey, I still have plenty of house I haven't even heard of. So which popular perfume houses have you not tried for one reason or another?

Bond No. 9. Too expensive for my tastes. The reviews aren't consistently good, IMO.
    Kilian, for the same reason.

There are many I haven't tried...

    The 5 most popular being

    Montale
    Fredric Malle
    Kilian
    Serge Lutens
    Tom Ford

I have only tried maybe 2 Creeds and 1 Amouage...

Reason being due to their rarity....

My top 5 houses to try (more likely because they are expensive but some are just because I haven't got around to it):

    1. Creed
    2. Amouage
    3. Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
    4. Yves Saint Laurent
    5. Hermes

I've been criminally negligent about Comme des Garcons, but also have Frederic Malle, the Hermessences, pretty much all guerlains and chanels left to try.

No, there is not. I enjoy staying on top of releases and finding out if there's anything I'll love out there. It happens rarely enough.

I'd like to try Nasomatto, but don't feel like paying $10+ for a drop of juice.

There are several fragrances that I've not tried yet but I guess I can say I've enough familiarity with all the most popular brands out there (both niche and designers). The world of perfumery is huge if you like to explore it seriously.

The only house I can think of that I hadn't yet tried something from was Jo Malone. Until yesterday - I received a sample of 154 while at Neiman Marcus.

I'm sure there are obscure / bizarre niche houses that I haven't tried (or even heard of), but none that are on my radar...

So many fragrances. So little time.
    Seasonal favorites:

    1. Creed - Spice & Wood
    2. Creed - Aventus
    3. Brückner - Aoud 1
    4. Armani Privé - Oud Royal
    5. by Kilian - Incense Oud
    6. Dior - Vetiver
    7. Les Nez - Turtle Vetiver Back
    8. Neela Vermeire - Trayee
    9. Amouage - Jubilation XXV
    10. Creed - Royal English Leather

I need to try Le Labo. I think the hype of the labels are a bit much, but I hear many scents are good.

I have their Rose 31 and love it. Try that one if you have any interest in a spicy rose scent.

All niche except for Creed. Just don't have access to that in my area.

Haven't tried anything from the John Varvatos house either.

Montale - nowhere to be found in my neighborhood. And I've somehow missed Montale whenever I've done fragrance safaris in big cities. One of these days. . .

There are several others, too numerous to mention. But Montale is the one I'm really curious about right now.

I tend to avoid numerous houses. It's less about me disliking them, and more about the fact that others are more attractive to me. I'm pretty fussy when it comes to who I buy from and what I buy. Popularity and positive reviews arn't that important. I need to have a good feeling about the fragrance.

Even with all the brands I ignore there is still a vast selection, and so many things to try, to buy, so I don't feel much of a compulsion to try X or Y because people are raving about it, or because it's the flavor of the month or what have you.

I've come into contact with Chanel fragrances by way of past girlfriends, female friends, relatives, etc. Never gone out of my way to buy one though, and don't own any except for two bottles of no.5 my aunt gave me. That's probably the biggest, most popular brand I pass by. Their compositions are nice enough but there's just something about the house as a whole which prevents me from clicking with them. That said I must admit there's a few exclusives I'm thinking about looking into.

Chanel, because it is not widely available here. Ok, I have tried them once at a boutique, but I don't own anything from that house.

There are plenty that I havent tried. Reason is that I mostly remain very loyal to my sig fragrances and wont try out anything new easily.

one fragrance house that always impresses me is DR Harris... I like their subtle colognes, specially Malborough and Windsor... I havent tried them, but everytime I order my shaving stuff from them they send me some samples... problem is I like the way they smell on shaving products and not on day-to-wear fragrances.

anyway. for all old barbershop cologne guys, DR Harris, Geo F Trumpers, and Truefitt & Hill make some amazing fragrances that are worth a try or two...
    My signature scents:
Current: GREEN IRISH TWEED (since June 2010)
Past: BOIS DU PORTUGAL (Oct. 09 - May 10)
Past Past: EAU SAUVAGE (good 15 years !!!)
Past Past Past: LANVIN L'HOMME (2 years)
Past Past Past Past: EAU SAUVAGE again (3 years or so)

Loads. Mostly because none of their fragrances have appeared on my 'radar' yet, with the exceptions being Mona di Orio, Odin, Slumberhouse and Santa Maria Novella (whose fragrances I just haven't been able to find a sample of yet.)

    Antonio Puig
    Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab
    Boucheron
    Coty
    Estee Lauder
    Etienne Aigner
    Geo F Trumper
    Halston
    John Varvatos
    Lab on Fire
    Lagerfield
    Liz Clariborne
    Lolita Lempicka
    Mona di Orio
    Narciso Rodriguez
    Nina Ricci
    Odin
    Perry Ellis
    Pierre Balmain
    Roger & Gallet
    Santa Maria Novella
    Sean John
    Slumberhouse
    Tommy Hilfiger
    Victoria's Secret

Mind you, I'm not sure how 'popular' some of the smaller houses are considered to be.

Nasomatto's a popular house? That's probably stretching it a bit, even for BN.

For me it's Perry Ellis. Something about the house just doesn't grab me...

Amouage and Serge Lutens are next on my list of houses to invade. However I have smelled very little of most houses.
