    Post Zara's fragrances

Hello guys.. today I went to buy some clothes at ZARA and noticed they were selling fragrances too (I know they've been selling it for a long time, but I had never noticed until now) so I decided to take a sniff.

Of the first frag I tried I got a wonderful blast of pineapple. It was Zara Gold (aka Sprint) I immediately bought it, taking a closer look it's pretty linear and smells a little synthetic but the cost-benefit is amazing.

I tried several others.. ZARA AMBER really got my attention and, despite thinking that AMBER does not fit my age-group well (I'm 18.) I got it too, it's very good and has the power of a EdP (being a EdT).

So.. does anyone around here tried/likes frags from Zara? I got that ones for like 40U$ each, which here in Brazil is a VERY (I mean VERY VERY) low price, for example, most of designers frags (if not all) costs 100U$+ per 100ml.

I did try one the other day at a friend's house. I can't remember what it was called but it was ok, kind of potent...

Good bang for buck. Just a shame they don't sell them online and you can only buy them are their very limited amount of stores.

Zara Gold dry down is indistinguishable from Paco Rabanne Black XS.

Really? Never tried Black XS but if it has the same dry down of zara gold in a more potent version, I'd definitely buy it.

No Black XS it's more of a revolting strawberry thing, IMO (and apparently many others, if you read the online reviews). Sample first. I'm wearing Gold today and it's very well behaved, not too sweet, no "synthetic" aspects, nothing offensive. It's not complex and doesn't develop, but I like it enough to keep it in the rotation, as it's quite different from what I usually wear and certainly pleasant.

That's exactly what I'd say about that Zara Gold. I can't say anything about longevity/projection yet as I never went a day through wearing it. How's that with you?

    Thanks.

The projection/sillage drops off after a couple hours (though it's not terrible) or so, but it's still there and the smell hasn't changed much, if at all. I'll update later, so that it's about 8 hours after application.

The "Sprint" version (pinkish juice) is supposedly similar to Aventus, which I have a split of and really like, and I'm awaiting a small bottle of it from DULLAH. While I haven't had a chance to try it myself, it seems to fare well with this fickle crowd.

Well, Gold held up nicely. I'm very impressed with it. It doesn't go into an Iso E Super or any other generic drydown. It does exactly what I was hoping it would do (and what it seemed to do on previous samplings). It is musky/smoky, juicy (but not sweet) pineapple, with a touch of green, perhaps galbanum. Whatever Aventus does (and I didn't notice anything different), it's not going to do anything more than I'm seeking from this kind of frag. For those who think it does, I'm glad you can extract significantly more pleasure from it, but I'm also glad that I can't !

All of their frags are copies of really popular designer frags. There is a LeMale, 1 million, black XS, code etc. They are pretty good knockoffs for $28 and bottles look great.

The Zara Gold in the 30ml black bottle smells different from the 100ml round golden one.
I'm not sure which formulation came earlier but I prefer the 30ml Made in Spain version.

Hi! Just to let you guys know that I recently tried Givenchy Play Intense and it's virtually the same scent as that Zara for Him I mentioned.

There's also a female fragrance that is a copy of Flower by Kenzo, but I can't remember the name.

Is Givenchy Play Intense popular in Europe? I have this theory that all of the Zara frags are copies of frags that are popular in Europe.

    I just realized I didn't mention Zara for Him. Idk what I was thinking, anyway it's a a GPI-copy.
I also got an Aventus bottle and it barely resembles Zara Gold.

@heperd: Idk if it's popular in Europe but most likely yes. Your theory makes sense as Zara is from Spain.
@moore: It was a white bottle but I just can't tell the name. I thought it was a well made copy as many of their others fragrances and I'm planning to gift someone with it. (=

I do not understand the parallel that some do, with Aventus. I do not detect pineapple either.

Yup, the one on the left. IMO it's not even close to one million (I own One Million and tested For Him on my skin two times). However there's one from Zara called "URBAN MALE DARK EDITION" that is close to one million but in a darker way (more cinnamon, less fruity).
I get a lot of Coffee + Chocolate from that For Him but maybe it's just me.

Probably the old one (Silver Bottle) is similar to Cool Water too, they made only minor changes as far as I know.
    Thank you!

Just tested it today. Thought it was a nice scent, maybe their best one so far (didn't test it on skin though).

Zara Man (green bottle, year 2000.) is really not bad and gives off Acqua di Gio vibe. The scent itself was designed by Alberto Morillas - mentioned Zara frag and AdG, that is, wich explains the connection.

Yes! This has to be my favorite of all time. Unfortunately, it has been out of stock for quite sometime and I have yet to find a viable replacement (though I can see the relation to Acqua di Gio).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar replacement for Zara Man? Or does anyone know anywhere to purchase this specific eau de toilette (though an extensive search of the google has left me doubtful for this latter question).

Got the gold and silver (again) yesterday, A bargain double pack for 9.99, Steal! I now don't find silver similar to cool water, Its been A few months and since I've sniffed hundreds of frags and my collections grown vastly. I like to think my nose has developed a bit I now think it smells like similar to A&Fs Fierce and/or a Hollister frag, (I think socal?) That was kinda confirmed by a colleague telling me I smell like 'the Hollister shop' Lol! Light and fresh enough for hot/summer weather. Compliment getter too. The gold however is more so for the colder days, A rich smoky slightly creamy pineapple vibe, Nice and sweet. I also pick up a malty note hidden in the back that kind of reminds me of, Dare I say it.. Pure Malt I've read that people say it smells like Aventus, But its been quite a while since I sniffed it so I wont say it does just for the sake of hype but I will say it does 100% have a smoky pineapple feel througout. But overall great fragrances. Perfect for a locker or in the car, Cold and hot weather both covered for a stupidly cheap price - Will definitely be stocking up on a few more of those double packs the next time I go.

The got few nice fragrances. I used to love their Vetiver, which I guess it's discontinued. It was a nice soapy vetyver, much in the same line as Dominguez Vetiver. As a matter of fact, I would not tell them apart. And yes, they are sort of copycats. Still, good value for money.
