Default Carbone de Balmain, Michael Kors, or Le Dandy

I'm considering buying one of the 3. I've read some very good things about each.

Thumbs up Re: Carbone de Balmain, Michael Kors, or Le Dandy

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Can't miss with either the Balmain or the D'orsay fragrance.

If you like booziness, try Le Dandy.

Apart from the company carrying on the "legend" of the so-called company namesake, the newly formulated Le Dandy in the EDP lacks oakmoss. Try to find the older EDT in the white box, not the new black one with the little blue top hat on the box.

The new EDP has the gold cap while the older EDT has a silver cap. You can still find the vintage at discounters like Beauty Encounter.

Anybody else care to chime in?

I know these fragrances are under the radar but there's gotta be more than 8 of you that have tried all 3.

My concern with Carbone is that it's one of these straight-cedar frags, like Lalique Equus, which I really don't care for. I get nervous when every other review mentions 'pencil shavings.'

These are all tied. Let us get a tie breaker!

It's made more interesting by a sweet fig note and a bit of incense. If we are talking blind buys it is probably the safest of the three. I've only tested the new Dandy and, while nice, found it a bit one-dimensional and a shade too sweet. The Michael Kors I like but plum and tobacco make it a risky blind-buy IMO.

I have been wearing Carbone de Balmain for a few days. Very good. Lightly woody scent that transforms into a nice vanilla scent in the basenotes. Stays close to the skin in about 6 hours.
