Default After a good Sandalwood cologne/aftershave

Am new on this forum so apologies if this has been asked before. I am after a good Masculine Sandalwood aftershave, Soapy smells are good, nothing with citrus notes , florals are fine as long as not feminine. I was interested in Taylor of bond street Sandalwood cologne but have heard mixed views on its longevity. Any suggestions , thanks

For a cologne +1 on Trumpers.

I have the Sandalwood shaving cream from Taylor Of Old Bond Street and the smell is synthetic and not a good representation of the note. So I doubt the cologne will be any better.

Trumper's is good but do test first, it is very sweet and more complex than your average barbershop sandalwood. Taylor's smells quite nice, longevity not bad but turns rather clovey. D R Harris is on the weak side. Truefitt's doesn't smell of sandalwood.

Thanks for the suggestions, sounds like Trumpers is the way to go

+1 on GFT Sandalwood. It does have a vanilla-ish element to it.... but it is my favorite. I have the shave cream, the skin food and the cologne.

I can't remember what real sandalwood smells like. It's just not being used anymore. Eau de Santal by Floris is quite soapy.

I'm wearing that right now and you are right. It does have that lovely "Gucci Envy Spice Accord" which I wish was a bit louder in this. But for true representation of Sandalwood this is not it.

I'll add to the praise for the Geo F Trumper's (or anything from them for that matter!).

There's also Elizabeth Arden's Sandalwood scent. Dirt cheap and a very natural and authentic scent!!

Yes, I love the stuff but have to agree it is a great choice but not really a sandalwood scent.
