Default Farenheit making me feel sick.

I thought I liked this frag but after spraying some on today I got a slightly artificial melony type note( a bit like Cool Water with petrol and leather) that's actually making me feel a bit nauseous. Am I a bit under the weather or has anyone else had this experience?

Never smelled melon in Fahrenheit though it can be overwhelming if sprayed near your nose ie on your neck or oversprayed. Try it again but with just one spray away from your nose and see how you get on.

I can't take Fahrenheit either and neither can most people around me. It's powerful, but the leather/honeysuckle combination isn't for everyone.

Le Male makes me sick for some reason, but I can acknowledge it as a pleasant smell.

Yes the ozone accord in the beginning can be overpowering, and borders on a melony timbre. I'm careful not to spray my chest with this one as I have experienced a bit of disturbance from that as well, but I do enjoy it in sillage. I spray back of wrists and back of neck. 3 sprays max, 4 if going out somewhere crowded maybe. Also, I find the vintage much less synthetic and plasticky.

I don't blame you for feeling sick. You can file a toxic tort suit after breathing in all the benzene from this stuff.

Seriously, I really don't get what Dior did to ruin this juice. I wore it when it first came out in 88. I just started college and for 4 years I wore this, Lauder for Men and Herrera for Men. Fahrenheit was a floral/green and woods scent that evoked a warm and spicy feeling. Perfect for wearing with a leather jacket in Fall. Now I get that for 5 seconds before the horrible gasoline note kicks in. Anyone who says the REAL vintage juice and this new formulation or even close is losing it.

so the reformulation is the gasoline heavy one? I always thought based on what I read, the old one was much heavier on the gas smell. Never smelled it myself, only have mythical tales to go by.

Yes! I may be losing it as this was 20 years ago but never once in me wearing Fahrenheit between the ages of 18-22 do I remember thinking..."there is a gasoline" smell in here." There may have been a light rubber/leather feel you would get but never the pure gasoline heavy scent I've tried now. It had a spicy warmth to it. I tested it again last week. It was funny. The first blast made me smile because I got what it used to be..and then gas and the smile turned upside down. The only thing I could think of that would bring such a strong reaction is that gasoline/tar note used now is so cheap and grating that it just stands out compared to what I remember...which was smooth.

It does not make me sick but it does get on my nerves. For whatever reason, Dior's fragrances often just don't settle with me well. This one is the worst for me, although I recognize it is a quality scent. Just not for me.

I have a sample of the current stuff. Right from the start I get a smell *very* much like automotive grease and oil. And it continues smelling like that. Dreadful juice.

Really starting to love it. When I first got it I was a bit confused, didn't understand the love. Now a year later, the more I use it the better it gets.

So sorry to read about that. I have never experienced such a feeling when wearing Fahrenheit. I have been wearing Fahrenheit for over 10 years which includes the all the flankers. I adore the scent. Perhaps you might take it easy on the sprayer and apply it on your chest and the back of your neck.

I was a bit careless spraying it. I am usually just a 2 spray person with almost everything and often very strategic with it.
I think today was partly not feeling 100 per cent and 3 sprays to the neck. Trouble is once I've been sick after eating a certain food it takes me a long time to be free of those associations, and I can see the same thing happening here..

I love this stuff. My wife says she smells relish when I wear it, but she likes it too.

Fahrenheit is the only fragrance that I can wear. There are many fragrances that I like on other people, but on my skin they are making me sick and I only want to rub them off.

When I first tried a tester at Sephora, I got an overwhelming black rubber gasoline note. After I got my own bottle however,I get a dark but mellow oily violet leaf and honeysuckle. I've never noticed a melon note though.
