Default Did I discover the "original Green Irish Tweed?"

Recently I acquired a fragrance with a group of others. I had no idea what it might smell like because there is so little information on it. Over at ME's Perfume Intelligence site, it is listed as being released in 1950. It begins similarly to Adventure by Eddie Bauer, with a kind of syrupy but not too sweet accord. There are some spices and perhaps even a hint of tobacco, so my thought was that this isn't bad at all, since I didn't buy the group for this fragrance anyway. Perhaps half an hour later I noticed that there was a significant change, and there it was, the signature lavender and violet leaf of GIT. And it was natural smelling too, unlike similar frags of recent years. Over time this accord became dominant. And so I thought to myself, is this where the perfumer of GIT came up with the idea? Did he/she think that the one accord could stand up on its own, so to speak? The frag is Tahoe for Men by Prince Matchabelli. Anyone else tried both of these frags? I'll have to do a side by side comparison one of these days, and I'll update this post when I do.
