Default Not the usual longevity / projection thread

I've seen many threads about which fragrances last the longest and which project the best. What I wanna know is:

    Which NOTES last the longest?

    and

    Which NOTES project the best?

It all depends on concentration of those notes used by the perfumer. Basically dense notes like vanilla, tonka, patchouli, oak moss are used for basenotes in fragrances. Again how long they last is all dependent upon the ratio concentration to the fragrance creation.

That makes perfect sense! I just thought certain notes last longer than others

No one can really answer that particular questions. How strong, or how long a specific fragrance note will last and project depends entirely on the way in which the fragrance was created. How much oil of a note was used in comparison to how much alcohol, etc. I'm sure you know that the perfume versions usually contain more of the actual perfume and thus, the notes tend to project and last longer.
You need to test out different fragrances to determine how strong a particular note really is. Their is no way of getting around that.

Imortelle is a very persistent note, it's not called everlasting flower for nothing.

    It doesn't work like that.

I can list 5 Vetiver/rose/iris etc etc that project monstrously and then list 5 that dont.

    for swap/sale:

It varies tremendously and really can't be pinpointed.

Not exactly a note, but I find the aromachemical calone (a watery metallic smell with elements of cucumber/watermelon) to have beastly projection and longevity.
