Default Interesting, complex masterpieces similar to kouros?

So I love Kouros. Its very complex and unique. Any recommendations for a frag just as good and also very interesting? (same price range)

That smells similar to Kouros - can't think of one - pretty unique IMO.

Joint for Men for sure. Less similar but worth considering: Zino and Salvador Dali Pour Homme (vintage versions only), Boss Cologne or #1, and Les Copains Homme.

Try Paco Rabanne Pour Homme and Cerruti 1881. The former is more herbal, the latter less animalic and a bit piney. I wouldn't call them masterpieces but they're good classics.

Kouros is quite unique, but you might like to try:

BALENCIAGA POUR HOMME is possibly the closest you will get, but Balenciaga Pour Homme is even closer to Lapidus Pour Homme.

Mon Homme is very similar, but with a faint chocolate note in it.

I don't think you are going to get anything that smells like Kouros. But if it is unique you are going for...

Salvador Dali pour Homme is easily one of the most complicated things I have ever smelled and it is a masterpiece. Not that expensive and highly recommended.

Givenchy Gentleman (Vintage) - deep, smoky patchouli, honey, civet, spices and florals
Balenciaga Pour Homme (1990) - +1, but this is a whole different world of scent and more expensive

And, while Original Vintage Paco Rabanne Pour Homme is my favorite scent of all time...it is not similar to Kouros in any way. It is an Aromatic Fougere in the classic sense. I highly recommend it if you haven't tried it - but don't expect a resemblance in any way to Kouros.

One final scent to mention...that has incredible depth and an old-school but timeless vibe - Oscar Pour Lui by Oscar de la Renta (Vintage). Rich, complex & deep composition - that is uncompromisingly masculine.

    Cheers.

Troisiemme Homme by Caron has the same 'feel' as Kouros.

Lots and lots going on and then settles into something brilliant.

    Really brilliant.

    Hi joe -

I absolutely adore Le Troisieme Homme and agree that it has a lot going on - and it most definitely settles into something truly brilliant (especially Vintage formulation)!

However, I don't get the same "feel" as Kouros at all, which is far more animalic, leathery, honeyed and has a more potent and slightly dirty vibe.

Both are classics and masterpieces, but so very different. I would liken the feel of Le Troisieme Homme by Caron to a Victorian garden with masculine power and depth.

I will give mention (and credit) to one common shared note by both that is presented - a wonderful clove (in the heart of each), but closer to the top of Kouros (late top, early heart) as it comes in with the brilliant and rich spices, patchouli, vetiver and florals. That clove note shows as a bit smokier in Caron's bottle as well, due to the structure.

    Cheers,

    ericrico
