I tested a simple rose eau de cologne made by a small artisinal firm here in Provence which smelled very natural.
Upon smelling, it transformed me back to my childhood days, playing in my grandmother's garden. She had roses all around the perimeter of her lawn.
    It made me cry.

Pierre Cardin Pour Homme. That was the first fragrance I purchased myself as a kid. I felt so grown up at the time. Brings me a lot of good memories.

As a matter of fact, I wore Polo green today. Love the stuff. Doesn't evoke any memories, though, as I discovered this gem later in life.
For memories, I have some Brut that I splash on occasionally.

.......another very underrated and forgotten classic. I love it. I recently bought a bottle, (now made by Coty) and I'm extremely glad to say that to my nose it still smells exactly the same !
........and this fragrance brings me back very fond memories of my extensive travels around America. I remember a lot of Greyhound bus stations used to have these machines where you could purchase a "splash" of this fragrance to freshen up, (I am going back to 1979). A great time I had, riding all the classic wooden roller coasters across America !!!

Aramis. No specific memories but it seems so familiar that I have to assume someone wore it around me in childhood.

"Michael Jordan" (by, of course, MJ) reminds me of when I was a kid. My mother gave my father a bottle for his birthday, and I remember him letting me use it. Reminds me of being stress-free and happy as a child. I picked up a bottle last year. I don't wear it much, but I wanted to buy a bottle for old time's sake

"Lucky You" (Liz Claiborne). Not my favorite scent by any means, but I just happened to be wearing it quite often back in late 2008-early 2009. That time period just stands out because it was one of the happier times of my life (various reasons) so I think fondly of this fragrance.

"Emporio Armani Diamonds for Men". Same reason as "Lucky You". I was wearing it during that time period. I was felt Diamonds to be an underrated fragrance. Wish I still had some. Might buy a 1 oz. bottle from FragranceNet one of these days. I still have the box that it came in, and the empty bottle. I occasional give the bottle's head a sniff. Brings back a rush of 2008 and 2009. Those days seem like yesterday, yet they are close to being 4-5 years ago. I miss them dearly. I can't help but hold "Diamonds for Men" and "Lucky You" in high regards for those reasons. Are they in my top 5 fragrances ever? Nope, but they evoke more memories within my mind along with emotions (happiness, in this sense) than any of my favorites.

Old Spice was my earliest recalled exposure to colognes, and as such takes me right back to the time when I was a child sitting on my grandfather's lap, playing with his pocket watch. Sweet nostalgia!
