Default ideas for daughter, based on what she likes?

I'm looking for some ideas for my daughter. She's 9 but loves perfume. She's gone through two bottles of Versace Bright Crystal. It seems...age-appropriate for her, very young, and it smells nice on her, but honestly I'm getting a bit tired of it. Christmas is coming and I wanted to get her something new.

So...I'm looking for ideas, for something that's age-appropriate that she's likely to enjoy. I'm not very knowledgeable -- "I like what I like" -- so I thought maybe some of you would be able to help me make an educated guess about what she'd enjoy.

In addition to her beloved Bright Crystal, she also likes my

    Bvlgari Black
    Keiko Mecheri Sanguine

Those are her favorites. To a lesser extent, she also likes my

    Diptych Tam Dao
    Keiko Mecheri Peau de Peche

And she also likes some of the CB I Hate Perfume, like Walking in the Air, and the Burning Leaves one, although those are certainly not things she would want to wear every day... but this is just to give you some idea of what she likes.

Being 9, she would also really like something in a striking bottle. She loves the Bright Crystal bottle with the pink stuff in it, and the big jewel on top. Very glamorous to her!

Thanks for whatever ideas you have!

Armani - Diamonds, for women obviously.

Maybe some celeb frags? Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, Bieber etc?

    (:

Feerie by Van Cleef and Arpels. -- sounds sweet and young-appealing, and check out the bottle!

I'm impressed by her taste at 9 years old -- sounds like she has quite the nose. At her age I was given a big bottle of Chantilly and loved it, it seemed so luxe to me.

The bottle has more "toy" appeal than glamor appeal (I love the bottle), but Rochas Tocade might be nice as a second fragrance. It's a nice friendly rose-vanilla, and hey! Luca Turin gave it top ratings.

Annick Goutal Eau de Charlotte and Petite Cherie are also eminently suitable and come in pretty bottles, but they're a subdued sort of pretty.

Ambling through my wardrobe looking for scents that I consider good (well, some are guilty pleasure but I consider them good enough to wear), that seem appropriate for the age, I add:

Jo Malone White Jasmine & Mint. Or you could get her one of the little sets of several tiny Jo Malone bottles; in my view, almost all Jo Malones are age-appropriate.
Balmain Vent Vert. The original was dark and scarey; the new is green and pretty and in a pretty bottle. I normally disapprove of the change, but for a nine year old, it works.
    ElizabethW Sweet Tea
    ElizabethW Rose
Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale, though the price almost certainly nudges it out for a child's gift, but, hey! You didn't state a price limit.
    Issey Miyake A Scent
    Fresh Lemon Sugar

Thank you everyone for these wonderful suggestions!

I'm wondering if maybe a fun Christmas gift for her would be samples/small decants of a bunch of these, and then letting her choose what she likes best!

I really do appreciate the suggestions and the help!

And maybe a nice artisan-made glass perfume bottle to put her favorite in? I'm too old and too far from that age to guess whether that would be enjoyed, or if it would be uncool because it would be an un-branded item.

Oh I think that's a lovely idea too, ChickenFreak! Then we don't have to worry about something as superficial as "is the bottle something glitzy enough"!

try also Love Etc by The Body Shop, it's very nice and I think made by Dominique Ropion.

Buy her a sample set from Sephora. There is a voucher in there to use for a fragrance of her choice. I heard some Sephoras will accept the voucher for a bigger sized perfume and the buyer pays the difference if she wants a bigger bottle.

    +1
And your daughter has a great nose, if you don't mind me saying!
I've noticed that most of the girls around me (18-25) love anything from Victoria Secret. I would buy her a bottle of body mist (the pink, rectangular bottle) on top of that sample set.

Marc Jacobs Oh Lola is a very youthful perfume, that somehow reminds me style-wise a little bit of Versace Bright Crystal. The bottle is also, as most of Marc Jacobs's bottles, very fun and unique. In fact, many of the Marc Jacobs perfumes are fun and young, might be something to look into.

Thank you, Cybele, Hayven, MikeJ, and Izzie!

What a bunch of wonderful ideas -- I'm taking notes! -- my daughter is going to have a very fun Christmas. And especially thanks for taking the time and taking a child's wishes seriously. She has a great time with her fragrance and fashion -- just something she really enjoys.

My daughter is 10 and I am in a similar situation. I have introduced her to the Acqua di Parma line of fragrances. They are all of the highest quality...natural ingredients/natural smelling and they have excellent accessories, such as soaps, lotions, shampoo, etc. The bright yellow of the colonia line & deep blue of the mediterraneo line are quite attractive.

Her favorites are AdP Assoluto and the Blue Mediterraneo Arancia line.

All her friends have remarked on how well she smells and they all want to borrow her "stuff"...

    Good luck!

I'd say http://www.thefragranceshop.co.uk/pr...ray-11697.aspx would be a great option. Or maybe buy her a set that she can pick a full bottle from.

Or maybe some Poison, perharps the Hypnotic one? A nice choice indeed

Thanks for the suggestions d4N13L! I haven't smelled Poison or Hypnotic Poison -- always thought of those as more "grown-up" for lack of a better word. I'll have to check those out!
