    Default Jazz!

I've only been buying and wearing fragrances for a relatively short time, and I've been meaning to sample YSL Jazz for a while - I vaguely remembered it from the past, without actually recalling where I'd smelled it or what it smells like. Then YSL repackaged (and reformulated?) it into those new smaller bottles at higher prices.

Today I saw the old 100ml bottles of Jazz at TK Maxx (the UK brand of TJ Maxx) for £29 and bought a bottle, and when I got home and sprayed a sample, memories instantly flooded back - it smelled like my dad (who's been gone around 10 years now)!

I took it over to my mum and let her smell it, and she immediately confirmed - it was one of his favourites.

And I love it - especially the woody dry-down with a hint of leather.

Wow, nice find! The original YSL Jazz is very rare, and I hope to get lucky and find it here when I drive around.

What a wonderful find. My dad also wore Jazz when I was a kid. I am so happy for you. May you enjoy your purchase immensely.

I don't even know what this stuff smells like but I love the original poster's story. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah you don't see it around much.

I'm curious to try it, as I am fond of a lot of men's designer frags from that era, though the "leather" note concerns me. Also curious about Jazz Prestige, which seems a pretty distant flanker.

I have a vintage 1.7 as well as a FB of the new stuff (tj maxx.)
The reformulation is a little weaker, but I still like it. Classic bergamot/lavendar/spices/leather/wood manly man's frag. Between a half hour in and 1.5 hours is a little obnoxious, but the opening and drydown are great, especially if you have memories associated with this one.

Jazz Prestige is Denser than Jazz, great scent if applied sparingly.
