Check out Eau des Bavx by L'Occitane.
Title. I can't currently afford it, but will buy when I can (if I like it) is there any scents that smell close to it? Like Le Male and Cuba Gold being similar, is there any similar scent to this? Thanks

Eh, if I were you I'd get a decant on some of the Facebook groups or via a split on here. I got 25 mL for $58, which is about normal for a split or decant. It's plenty by the way.
EdB from L'occitane is the closest. But then it just faded away in couple of hours. TV is solid 8-10 hours
IMHO, there's (strangely) no substitute for Tobacco Vanille. I don't think EdB smells like it and I don't think EdB smells better.
For sure Le Male isn't very close. Le Male has a citrus opening, a traditional mens cologne scent, and then a "light" vanilla. TV has a "dark" vanilla with a pipe tobacco accord.
TV lasts forever, too. Beautiful.
Have you thought about a split? Its about $100 for a half bottle in split form, but since 1-2 sprays is equivalent to 3-4 of most other scents, it seems a pretty good deal.

And just to note that on me it lasts forever.

Though I've never smelled TV, I own and love Eau des Baux which many people compare to TV.
I know Tobacco Vanille is very popular but IMHO you are paying quite a lot for a breathtaking tobacco opening that pretty quickly slips into a very, very tenacious vanilla that, while nice, is pretty mundane. If that works for you, fine, but ask yourself which part of the equation is that rocks your boat?
If it's the long ride then forego the tobacco and grab a cheap vanilla. If it's the tobacco then the only comparable experience I can think of might be Back to Black (also lasts forever) or Santa Maria Novella Tabacco Toscana (less showy but excellent), but both of these cost. Maybe the travel refills for B2B or a refill would work - very cost effective.
Eau de Baux is a great piece of work but best judged on its own merits IMO - I find it more complex and far more satisfying than TV but not similar. I think it does it a dis-service to think of it as a 'budget TV', it's actually 'worth' more IMO![]()
If tobacco is what you crave you could layer Hommage a l'homme with Eau de Baux and still spend less than half the price of TV and you will have both all the way to the drydown !
