Default Smell Bent Otter Luvr, has anyone tried this?

Notes include bay, oakmoss, algae absolute, natural ambergris, castoreum, sweet resins and musk. Sounds interesting and I am tempted to get a sample. Can't find out much about this one. Have you tried this one?

It's one of the few smell bent scents I haven't tried, but they're all so well made, interesting and inexpensive you should go for a sample. 5 samples for $25, and the samples are big (4ml sprays I think).

Gotta try this one myself! Sounds awesome, a dirty/ watery green animalic... it'll be the only one I've ever heard of.

Well, I think Brent has more of a sweet tooth than I do - or maybe I have a low tolerance for sweetness...
That being said, I'm ordering full bottles of:

    Violet Tendencies
    Eau Dandy
    Brussels Sprouted
Werewolf Lumberjack (puts Muscs Koublai Khan to shame, in my opinion)

and I have a sample of Totem Eclispe (of the Heart) on its way to me that I kind of expect to dig.

I've been wearing nothing but smell bent lately, and even when the scents weren't ME, they were entertaining and well worth exploring.

Wow, something that can put MKK to shame is a beast in its own league.

Matthew, can you please describe each briefly? Thanks.

The only Smell Bent scent I have experienced is Saddle Warmer which I cannot find on their web site and can only assume has been discontinued. Thank God. It is a disaster.

I'm really not great with reviews, but here goes:

Violet Tendencies - Not much violet, to my nose. Closer to Bandit, but not as bitter. This will sound bizarre, but to me it smells like a mixture of Frankincense and Myrrh (by Czech and Speake) and a hot soldering iron. Like a dandy electrician. I'm not doing it justice - it's my favorite.

Eau Dandy - I'm wearing this one today - this reminds me of Eau Sauvage in a way. Not as funky, longer lasting. Instead of that funk, which can be hit or miss with me, I get something that reminds me of the walls of blooming honeysuckle I would play in as a child. I have no idea if it IS honeysuckle, but that's what comes to mind.

Brussels Sprouted - This is very green but not bitter. It has that coconut-y smell of fig/ivy, and stays sweetly green/vegetal for hours. Very relaxing and probably the easiest of the four to wear.

Werewolf Lumberjack - Well, this is musk and wood. It starts off reminding me of Cuba (Czeck and Speake again) without the mint, but winds up in a very warm, dirty musk reminiscent of MKK but not as sweet. Not as long lasting as MKK, but no slouch.

I know I compare these scents to other scents, but that's just because I'm lazy and not a perfume reviewer. These scents are doing their own thing, and I'm just using the comparisons as easy touchstones.

And you said you're not good with reviews? Lol

They all sound so wonderful and unique. Lumberjack is right down my alley, will have to order samples soon! Thanks again.

Any thoughts on going for the EDT or oil samples. I've been looking at this house for a while but have always wondered which versions to test.

The oils are cheaper, so if you just want an idea if this house is for you it might be a good bet.
I started with the "#1 Hits for Men" sample pack (EdT), and knew I loved this house - so I ordered all my other samples in EdT. Just my personal preference.

I find the oils have a better richness and depth of smell. For example, I liked Bollywood so much (rose and sandalwood) that I bought both the EdT spray only to find it was stronger on the rose and less on the sandalwood than the oil. The oil is the opposite, and a very good sandalwood at that. The opposite may be true for other fragrances but held true for me with Violet Tendencies, too.
Currently looking for Ava Luxe Midnight Violet

Just to update on this thread,
I've been desperate for a new buy recently and had no idea what to get.
Feeling in a playful mood, I ordered the gift set of this... for myself :')
I got the EDT gift pack so 5 samples and a voucher for a full bottle (hope to god I really enjoy one of the samples enough haha)

    I chose:

Dead of winter (anise, vanilla, cedar, zombie musk)
Totem Eclipse (cedar, champaca, skunk cabage, vegetal musk)
    Mountain High (cannabis, fir, patchouli)
Ottr Luvr (bay, oakmoss, algae, animalics)
Exquisite Corpse (bergamot, tuberose, black pepper, earth, animalics)

    Will definitely report back.
Was torn between Mountain High and Werewolf Lumberjack, but I've tried lots of musks, including his Untitled no.8, and I'm needed something original and green and the minute, not a poop musk.

I agree. This is the most revolting scent I've ever smelled, aside from Secretions Magnifiques. I will not mince words: This is a Train Wreck! I just blind-bought this along with Brussels Sprouted (strong top notes of old cat piss and litter) and Debonair (I actually like this one), and I've got to say that this frag makes no sense. Train wreck, Car Crash, Huge Explosion, Saddle Warmer SUCKS! Maybe I've got a more sensitive nose than the creator, but I would never even think of releasing this to the public if I created it. terrible and all smell very synthetic.

I wore Otter Luvr to work today for the first time and it smelled great all day. It's a wonderful musky bay rum. It's really too bad that Brent has discontinued it. If there's anybody out there who likes this kind of a fragrance, I'd highly recommend it if he has any bottles of it left. You'd have to e-mail him and see since it's no longer on his website. I think it's easily one of the best things he's done.
