    Default URGENT transporting dilemma! HELP!

    Hey guys, major problem.

I'm moving this week, and the moving company (owned by a friend of a friend of a friend--- you get it) has been kind enough to drastically reduce the price of moving my stuff, BUT - he's going to get the things from my old place in tomorrow evening and then drive it up to my new place the next morning.

Now, it's snowing where I live now and I'm super worried that my fragrances will freeze in the truck overnight and be ruined. Will freezing completely fuck up my bottles or will they even crack and spill or something? Seeing as most fragrances have such a mad high alcohol content they shouldn't freeze right?

The stuff is already packed and I'm really not in any mood to dig through 15+ boxes to try to find where I put my fragrances, but if they'll ruin the other stuff in the box or if they're likely to get ruined overnight I'll have to deal.

    Thoughts?

Like you said, the freezing point of alcohol is pretty darn low, so my best guess, everything will be fine.

I would not worry at all about your bottles freezing. The alcohol content will take care of that. Don't sweat it buddy.

Phew, that makes me less panicky.

I've heard horror stories about temperature changes effing up the scents completely, but maybe a one-timer won't be a major deal.

Thank you dear basenoters for easing a newbie's mind ^^

High temperature is worse than low temperature.

Inside of a box inside of a truck for one night they're unlikely to be affected much.

Where do you live? (general geographic area) I'm in PA and it RARELY gets cold enough that I'd think it would effect the frags under those conditions. (Snow often means anywhere between 30-40*). Unless it gets in the 0-20*F range I wouldn't be too concerned.

I live in Sweden, so we get pretty cold nights, but since they'll be in a box in a truck I guess it should be okay.

Should be fine. As others have said, the freezing point of perfume is pretty low in most cases.
