    Default WOODSY vanilla?

I just picked up the most amazing vanilla perfume oil (it a little roll on. For $12.) at the local natural food store. The ingredients listed are "authentic vanilla CO2 in jojoba oil". I'm not sure what "vanilla CO2" means (I'm guessing it's the method of extraction?) but the scent is very much vanilla with an almost...woody scent to it!

It smells exactly like vanilla that's been stored in a wooden (ceder?) chest for a long time and picked up the smell.

I'm very impressed!!! But why does it smell woody? Is my ignorance really showing here and that's just what natural vanilla smells like? (I'm usually exposed to the synthetic stuff). Or is it a different type of vanilla? (vanilla planifolia).

There are different places of origin around the equator for the vanilla family to grow which would change what kind of fragrance your going to get or it may have been the carrier oil for the vanilla was stored in cedar barrels. It could be a number of things????

Something like that could very well happen.

I know, I don't know what is up with that either. I'm guessing the CO2 extracted it somehow or processed it.

Unfortunately it doesn't have good longevity. That doesn't bother me too much though.

What you described is Serge Luten's "Une Bois Vanille". Cedarwood plus vanilla. Longevity is definitely not a problem with that one.

    Perhaps the ideal one.

Oh thank you!!!! Now I know what I'm trying next time I order samples. I was looking for a good vanilla scent if you happened across my earlier thread!
