Question Rive Gauche pour Homme vs Rive Gauche pour Homme Intense ?

To be intense, or not to be intense ~ that is the question ?
It seems that people are split down the middle on this one, or even that more people prefer the original edt version.
I have found the Intense version for sale in a shop, but alas no tester so I can't make my own judgement. I certainly like the sound of amped up patchouly, but many say that the barbasol effect is lost with the intense version. If anyone owns both I would be really grateful for a simultaneous testing of both.

The shop also has deodorants on special offer for Jazz and Jazz Live. Never been particularly struck by this fragrance and relatively unfamiliar with the live version. What are your thoughts on these two and their differences please ?

Also, the shop has limited edition Opium pour Homme, (the chinese edition). Again, no tester is on offer, so it would be a blind buy. I am not so fond of the original OPH because of the strong (chocolaty ?) note in it ~ but perhaps this limited edition is different enough to warrent buying ?
Any help with any of the above is much appreciated !!!
    Thanks, david.

I have tried both and didn't note much of a difference other than better longevity.

The chinese edition of opium is not good. I'm not able to answer your question about Jazz as I own only the after shave.

The intense is velvety, sweeter and it "feels" like a stronger version, but the volume still the same, just the effect, because the intense is denser.

Its recommended for the cooler weather

There were limited editions of Opium pour homme ~ one was called "Poesie de Chine Eau d' Orient" It is listed in the basenotes fragrance directory.

Since the intense version is much harder to find I would jump on it.

I've never smelled the intense version, but....I really don't feel a need to. I find regular Rive Gauche PH perfectly blended the way it is, and have no issues with strength, projection or longevity.

Re Rive Gauche PH I have both and Intense is for my nose vastly better fragrance than EDT. PM me your address I am happy to send you samples of each. Cheers

Jazz and jazz live and completely different. Jazz live is a fresh fragrance with a touch of mint, if I remember correctly.
Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Does the new Rive Gauche come in a small square bottle and the original in a tall canister?

    me too.

edit: OK, after spending some time with both over the last couple days I'd have to agree with those that sense relatively > patchouli and < barbasol with RG pH intense. Quite similar though overall.

I like the regular RGPH in the tin can more than its intense version.
    My all time favorite:

The intense version also comes in a tin,( aliminium) can. The square bottle is the, (I believe ?) reformulated regular version - not the intense version.
