Vintage Macassar by Rochas.
Which fragrance do you believe, and these are personal opinions of course, has the most beautiful smell?
Please don't factor in a frags longevity, sillage, or originality in your decisions, this is purely about smell.
Vintage Macassar by Rochas.
"Le parfum est la musique du corps" (Marcel Rochas)

Then I would add others.

"Thick dome of jasmine
(Under the dense canopy where the white jasmine),

I love FM's Bigarade Concentree...every time I smell it I think I love it a little more.
I find that the new Jour d'Hermes to be a beautiful perfume.
Vol de Nuit is another one.
Beautiful? I seek beauty, I seek to be surrounded by it. I wonder how you're using the word. If I stand in front of Water Lillies at the MOMA, I see beauty. Intense beauty. I love most Picassos, but I find them to be less "beautiful" than the water lillies. So maybe my feelings about beauty have kind of this Japanese lilt to them where I think about stuff like harmony, peace, balance, proportion and nuanced pleasure. I can appreciate and respect some the more hard-edged male fragrances out there, the ones that seem to extend from the Guinness Stout/horseshit cohiba/rotten whiskey model of demonstrating one's virility, but for me "beauty" has a somewhat softer, milder, more comforting feeling to it than that. So, with that disclaimer in mind, I think that the most beautiful fragrances are -
Bulgari Eau Parfumee Au The Vert
Cartier L'Essence de Must Pour Homme
Cartier Must Pour Homme
Gaultier 2
Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille
Gucci Pour Homme 2003
Jo Malone Red Roses (imo dudes cannot wear this, but can park bars of the soap in strategic locations in the bathroom).
Maybe Halston Z-14, which in some ways is the magnum opus of male perfumery, is beautiful. The old, original, long-gone Quorum was kind of beautiful.
I could probably be convinced that an old skool test-fest powerhouse like Santos is beautiful - I wear it a lot - but my definition of beauty is probably narrower than yours. Anyway, that's my best thinking on the subject. It's all terribly subjective, isn't it?
Is beautiful here being used as a synonym for good? Some fragrances I find very good arn't really beautiful.
I'll pick five: Nina Ricci's Fille d'Eve (vintage parfum), Worth's Je Reviens (vintage parfum) Opulent Shaik no.33 (EDP), Love Chloe (EDP) and Annick Goutal's Rose Absolu (EDP)
Note that I don't add certain things I'm apt to rave wildly about such as Annick Goutal's vanilla because I find it more delicously sensual than beautiful, and say Tabac Blonde which is more femme fatale sexy than beautiful, and I don't add any of my favourite masculines because except for The Third Man (vintage, which still doesn't quite make the cut) I wouldn't call most of them beautiful.
For some strange reason YSL L'homme was the first thing that popped up in my head when I think "beautiful"
The sense of smell, like a faithful counsellor, foretells its character.

Can only think of 2 right now that qualify. There's a purity or innocence about them that I find truly beautiful.
Sonoma Scent Studio's Jour Ensoleille
Cartier Les Heures Fougueuse
Black Aoud for its lush, fresh, wet, red roses
Creed Windsor
Beautiful?
Chanel Cuir De Russie is probably the most 'beautiful' one I own.
Vol de Nuit vintage pure parfum.
