    Good morning,
Thanks to my friend G. I'm sampling Patou's Lasso Extrait... I always feel that the old discontinued Patou greats must have shared 80 or more percent of their perfumed DNA. So, Lasso is no exception...very Patou, again an old Mitsouko-like start giving way to a warm cuddly, perfectly balanced animalic leathery base. This is selling the improper animalics as perfectly fine. I am happy with the Patous I have (Moment Supreme and the most odd Que sais-je? )... knowing one or two is almost like knowing them all. Still, it's a great house of the past and there is absolutely nothing like it.
Abysmal weather outside... thawing is in the air, but the ground is solid frozen. I hastened to pick up something I had promised to, but am happy to be back home again (and the car is safe and sound, too).
Time for the breakfast treat. I picked up some more poppyseed short pastry bakings yesterday, a specialty from a region in the north of Austria and... yes, a bucket of espresso.
    Have a good Saturday all!

    Good Morning,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Larimar. Credit of course, goes to Furrypine for generously sharing in the first instance. I agree it is very 'Patou'. I found the play between the fruity/chypre and floral/leather aspects interesting - a little bit of everything in there.
A pleasantly lazy morning so far. Catching up with a friend later for drinks.
    No. 5 today: Soap + 80s EdP.
    Enjoy your Saturday, folks.

Well It's exactly 5 o'clock around here but it doesn't mean that it's too late to be having breakfast too!
It was a lazy Saturday indeed, but who knows, things might still change
The last orangy-pink rays of sun have just waved good-buy and I'm willing to start this beautiful evening with a drop of No 5 parfum!

Larimar, I'm very envious of you poppyseed desert, since it was my favorite treat in childhood. My granmother made those delicious little cakes with poppyseed filling - and no matter how much she made - it was all gone before it had time to cool down

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. Hello everyone!

I'm doing some Christmas baking today, and I thought the scrumptious candied orange and gingerbread accords in Givenchy's Very Irrésistible flanker, Poesie d'un Parfum d'Hiver, would be a nice way to go.

    Y'all have a wonderful day!

Dudette, the limited edition No5 soap is 200g ...200g of unadulterated perfumed luxury. I have it - it's incredible, and I highly recommend it. Seriously, you should grab one while they're available. Chanel soaps last a very long time if you allow them to dry out after each use, so I really think of them as quite a bargain for such an indulgence. I say go ahead, give in to your desire!

Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. I have a little Christmas story to share with you guys:

Hubs came home, said, 'You won't believe this'. He hands me a card, I see money in it and there's nearly enough to pay rent with it. People from the Bible study we go to all chipped in when they heard of the lay-off. The card was slipped into my husband's Bible at his men's study he goes to. Then someone said, 'there's something in your Bible for ya'. When he showed me that, it just made me tear up, I mean, how sweet? Everyone gave what they could and they all signed it. Seeing all the signatures and encouraging words, *waterworks* lol. Couldn't believe it. There was even a gift card at the grocery store we shop at. Hubs doesn't start his job till January so, we need help to pay rent & bills, etc. But we need a bit less help this month now. We had no idea they were secretly pitching in, I guess they started a month ago. Amazing timing as we had one last paycheck to last us and we just now used it up. And unemployment never came. Amazing that people gave like that, we didn't want to accept it cause it's just too kind. But Pastor was not even hearing it about returning the gift, lol. Our wedding anniversary is Tuesday, so, again, such good timing. A little miracle this Christmas.

Sotd- Bottega Veneta. Hugs to everyone.

It is 150g, but not a special Christmas edition ( I don't think I'm aware of those ).

I am still very upset about the murder of those poor children & their teachers.
My prayer is that their souls find peace & healing.

On a much happier note, my daughter (who has attracted a lot of attention from boys over the last 6 months) went out on her first date. It was sweet and she said she had a very nice time and "Yes Mom, he was a perfect gentleman."

guess she knew I was going to ask......
