I have some bottles and have sampled quite a few. IMO most of the scents are versatile, nothing outrageous or edgy and I like that... Soft, elegant, sophisticated. I really like this house.

L'Artisan were first niches that I tried and Timbuktu is my first niche bottle that I bought. What I really like about this house is that their fragrances are very natural smelling.

Timbuktu, Patchouli Patch, Al Oudh, Voleur de Roses, Fou d'Absinth, Tea for Two - all are worth sampling. Only one from those that I sampled that I didnt like was Cour d Vetiver Sacre but even CVS was natural smelling.
Current TOP 5 from my collection:

    1. Gucci Pour Homme II
    2. Chanel Coromandel
    3. L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Extreme
    4. Encre Noire
    5. Dior Homme Intense

Where are these guys available in-store? Anywhere? Sephora has them listed as "online only" and Nordstrom doesn't have them on their website.

Going from the mid 70s, nice house. Of course been reformulated in recent years.

I have 7 of their fragrances.

    Welcome, MK312!

You can always check the fragrance directory for different perfume lines. L'Artisan has 74 different fragrances listed and lots of reviews. It's a quick & easy way to familiarize yourself with different fragrances.

    And then there's always

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27Artisan_Parfumeur

Note the relationship between L'Artisan & Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. Interesting, huh?

I have many, many more L'artisans than I do MPG. They are both quality products. If you want to try them in person, you'll have to go to Barney's New York or Henri Bendel (not the little boutique store but the big one in NY). That's where I have seen them, tried them & bought them.

Once you know what you like, several online shops offer them. Aedes, MiNY, Parfum1, Luckyscent, The Perfume Shoppe....several more too.

    Good luck with them!
