    Default Quorum

I`m looking for some classical, unusual scents. Should I get QUORUM??
I already wear ANTAEUS, KOUROS and JACOMO.
I would be happy about some recommendations from you connaisseurs.
    Thanks, keep on smelling..

    Welcome to Basenotes!

I love Quorum. It is a great leathery chypre. As you said, it is a classic. However, it is something of a polarizing scent.

Nevertheless, I think that you might enjoy Quorum. You mention liking Antaeus and Kouros, both of which are powerful fragrances from the same era. I do not think that Quorum smells similar to either one of them, but I do think that if you like them, you will almost certainly like Quorum. It is different enough to justify adding to your wardrobe.

If you do like Quorum, I would suggest that you also try Aramis (which I confess I like better), Azuree (which is similar to Quorum), and Aromatics Elixir (which is my favorite of the three).

With the frags you already have, you should like Quorum. Quorum is one of my favourite beasts.

IMO, Quorum requires at least 2 full-wear samplings. Sprayed lightly (1 or 2 sprays) it's a drier, almost smoky or incense-like, scent that's fairly office-friendly. A full 4-6 sprays unleashes more of the "beast" so often mentions - the floral heart notes fill out the tobacco/leather that eventually fades, leaving a late drydown that would not be out of place in a much more expensive fragrance. You might get good results spraying lightly for work, and then adding one or two sprays at the end of the day to go out.

One drawback is that if you don't like it, you're stuck with it pretty much all day.

I'll agree with Advocate that it's most definitely is a polarizing scent. I've got nothing against Quorum, but I find it enormously crass. Quorum Silver on the other hand, I love! But QSilver isn't in the same league or family of Antaeus, Jacomo and Kouros.

You really should sample it. I personally like Kouros and Antaeus, but do not like Jacomo or Quorum.

Classic, classic fragrance, i love it and it's dirt cheap too (€ 14,00 for 100ml)

Jacomo and Kouros are (aromatic) fougere type scents, you might want to try Paco Rabanne's Pour Homme, another great classic

Does anyone know if the aftershave lotion smells similar and packs anything like the punch of the EDT?

If you already wear these, not necessary IMO.

I have the reformulation and really like it I find it much more wearable than the vintage.

The aftershave doesn't pack the same overall punch because it's by definition a weaker concentration, but it does smell the same.
    Current Favorites:
    1. Le 3me Homme - Caron
    2. Yatagan - Caron
    3. Van Cleef & Arples Pour Homme
    4. Dolce & Gabbana pour Homme
    5. Kouros - YSL
    6. L'Anarchiste - Caron
    7. Xeryus - Givenchy
    8. V.I.P. Special Reserve - Giorgio Beverly Hills
    9. The Dreamer - Versace
    10. Nobile - Gucci

But since the EDT is so powerful, one might reasonably expect the aftershave to retain some might relative to other fragrances out there. Lol
