    Default Vetivers Pls!!

Recommend some vetivers like Tom Ford Grey Vetiver but with BETTER sillage and longevity.

I love the sweet grapefruit in this.
    Thanks

You get bad longevity from GV? It lasts forever on me.

Maybe try Guerlain Vetiver Extreme, and Kenzo Boisee.

    Thumbs up Re: Vetivers Pls!!

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I don't know if people will bash me for this, but I find Terre d'Hermes Parfum perfect here. I've worn TdH Parfum on one wrist and Grey Vetiver on the other...and they were close. Obviously not identical, but close. On me--the grapefruit is what comes out on both (a little more lemon with GV than grapefruit for me). On me, both frags last a good ten hours...but TdH Parfum projects more hours later, while GV comes closer to the skin as time passes.

I always recommend Dior's Vetiver. It's really surprisingly fantastic, as well as easy to love. There is a slight citrus kick, less than Grey Vetiver, so expect more focus on the actual vetiver aspect. Lasts quite a while.

Sel d' Vetiver has a grapefruit note in it and it lasts for a long time. It is warmer than Grey Vetiver, but I like it more. Actually I don't know of any other vetiver that smells exactly like Grey Vetiver. Prada Vetiver has a similar tart citrus in the opening and a grey attitude that comes from tarragon and pepper, but it is colder somehow. Maybe one vetiver that smells like Grey Vetiver is plenty.

L'Occitane's Vetyver is also another good one.

On the niche/exclusive front would be Mazzolari Vetiver and Dior Vetiver.

My recommendation is Prada Infusion de Vetiver. I think this is a highly underrated fragrance.

    No reason to bash you!
I've found after a long and hard think that this is my favourite vetiver as well - I simply can't justify anything else, maybe except for the EdT equivalent for warmer weather. It comes a bang on favourite, whereas GV is just too synthetic for my liking. There are some notes in it that make me feel sick.

    Try Lubin de Vetiver.
Prada Infusion De Vetiver is indeed nice, but its more like for people that want to get introduced to this note.
I also like Montale - Red Vetyver ; but not really close to GV.

I would suggest Vetiver Tonka, a truly beautiful scent. Vetyver is arguably a side player there - still, a great vetyver.

I would not recomment Vetyverio Dyptique: a sheepish green vetyver with very little substance.

    +1

Dior literally lasts 12 hours on my skin. Received nothing but positive compliments any time I've worn it. Highly recommended, I've heard rumors of it's discontinuance.

I think I might have found it. Guerlain Vetiver!!! Would you all say this is similar and close to TF Grey Vet.

I do enjoy the scent and it projects well and longevity seems good. Current formulation btw
