I keep them all.
Thread: Sample Spring Cleaning
Just decided to thin out my samples today as the box I keep them in was bursting at the seams, felt a bit wasteful while in the process of doing it, but come on, who really needs the four samples of Dolce and Gabanna the One Sport the Sephora SA stuffed into my shopping bag one day.
Do you all keep your samples forever or does regular cleaning and thinning of the herd become the norm?
I keep them all.
I thin them out and give them away.

I mostly give my samples away.
I try to use most of them, or I trade them in the swap forum.
I trade some but most I give away to BNers.
It was a calculated risk. Unfortunately, I'm bad at math.
Unfortunately I don't live in a particularly large city, so none of our stores even give out mini samples.
I keep most samples, but I pretty much only ever buy them or get them from some nice BNers, since I almost never buy stuff from department stores, and fragnet always gives me female samples or crappy mens stuff like Usher for Men which smells like urine.
My sampling has had, so far, about a 12% success rate for things I even remotely like, and I really don't see any need to keep things I don't. I have detailed notes, and there's more than one little vial in my collection that I truly never want to sniff again. I definitely would never actually wear any of my fails. I'm looking for ways to give things away or trade them, although I don't suppose my collection is that terribly exciting.
I keep them locked up in an old cookie-tin with a tight-fitting lid, to avoid any chance of rogue esters violating my nose. It's only about half-full, so I have a little time, although opening the tin is a bit fraught.
I need to give some of mine away to other basenoter's.
