Default To Pi or not to Pi?

Boots have Givenchy Pi on sale at around £16 for 30ml. I sprayed some on my hand and 8 hours later this stuff is still smelling rather good! Certainly seems like 'bang for buck!' Worth a purchase?

Yeah, bro.. it's not bad. I got a little sprayer sample of it at Sephora. My wife and younger daughter liked it alot. Definitely a nice vanilla scent, though I am not much into these sorts of frags.
If you get it, I can virtually guarantee women/girls will like it.

    Yes. Worth it IMO.

I think it's a justifiable purchase. There aren't many men's vanilla based fragrances in the designer realm that smell good and aren't too expensive. The longevity is excellent too (I wouldn't expect anything less from Alberto Morillas), and the bottle is a beauty!
    My 3 Signature Scents:

    Rive Gauche Light (2004)
    Fahrenheit (1988)
    Paul Smith Man (2009)

If you like sweet, it's worth owning. It doesn't demand much of you. Shlapp shum on, boom, you smell good, and then you can turn your attention to other things.

I dont like top notes but once it settles down its rather comfortable vanilla (benzoin) + hint of almonds. Longevity is above average (10+ hours). I dont wear it as much as I used to but my mom uses it now and it smells good on her too. Definitely unisex.

Do buy it. It's a great designer vanilla based men's scent! And for the bang you get for your buck it's worth it.

If you can, get the eau de parfum. I have it and now wouldn't consider getting the edt. I use it sparingly...the edp is hard to find.

One of the better modern scents from Givenchy. I really like the almond scent in this fragrance very unique for its time sillage and duration tops.

My mind is pretty much made up - I'll be picking it up when I'm next in town! On a side note, Pi is an absolute longevity monster!! 28 hours later and after washing my hand at LEAST three times, I can STILL detect a hint of sweet almond and vanilla where I'd originally sprayed. That is money's worth, right there!

I'm an absolute vanilla whore but Pi doesn't 'do it,' for me on the Vanilla side. That said! It's still a great, sweet scent. I find the top a little bit noxious, but my skin eats top notes fast and I have the same issue with Joop! (an all-time favourite) so it's nothing I can't handle.

Worth owning for the bottle if nothing else, if such things tickle you. I bought it for the bottle. One of the nicest bottles you can currently own, right up there with Kenzo Power, Lalique le Parfum, and others.

Thanks for your input - is it the 30ml you own? I wondered if the bottle was just as impressive at this size. They had the 100ml out as a tester, naturally, so I never saw its baby brother. Cheers.

I did own the 30ml but I ended up giving it to a friend and picking up a 100ml when I found it cheap at my local fragrance store. Obviously it's less heavy and not as substantial, and being smaller means it has less presence, but if memory serves the overall design, cap, etc is no different.

I'm not a huge dan of Pi, and probably would not purchase it at any price. But to each his own.

I'll second this notion. Though I would purchase it for the $20-30 mark 1.7 oz or 3.4oz if I so stumbled upon it that cheap.

Hi, would you mind pointing out where I can get it cheaper online? It would have to come in at less than $25 for 1oz including shipping to the UK to be any cheaper than what I will be paying at Boots. Cheers.

I still have my original bottle from when this launched. Its about 75% full. I don't know what happened, but i went from using it over the years every once in a while, to shuddering even thinking about sniffing the bottle even.

Good stuff. Givenchy is one of my favourite houses, a lot of great frags there although reformulations are becoming an issue in the Mythiques range. I still dig Xeryus, Gentleman, Very Irresistable, Blue Label, Red Label, Pi, Eau de Givenchy, Into the Blue, Eau Torride, Monsiuer Givenchy (vintage especially) and they're still making the best dang Vetiver on earth, end of story.

Also I'm starting to get over my intitial horror over the new Xeryus Rouge. I actually wore it a few nights ago and it felt good. Very challenging scent!
