Thread: SOTD: Sunday 16th December 2012
Morning fragrant ones,
How are we this Sunday?
Im quite chipper ( i dont know why though lol)
My SOTD is Amouage - Memoir Man
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!
L'eau d'ambre for me this morning, from a sample- one of the very first niche fragrances I smelled, many years ago. It conjures up a very elegant and sensuous festive mood...
Have a nice Sunday
"Your fragrance with a fume of iodine" L. Cohen
I don't have a signature fragrance. My signature changes every day, why shouldn't my fragrance?
Profumo Saggio, where in IA are you? I am too, upper left corner, close to SD , MN and NE.
Iodine, I have never commented: I love your attitude about the forthcoming Christmas gift from your mother (only she does not know about it yet) and you already testing it. Another fantastic fragrance from Pierre!
Revillon Detchema. (1953 brought us quite a few masterpieces, has anyone ever noticed that?).
Jules by Dior
Girls are preserving their beauty sleep again. Way to go!

"I felt something so intense, I could only express it in a perfume." - Jacques Guerlain
Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."
Clarice Lispector ( 1920-1977) - Perfumes da Terra / Earth Perfumes
Sotd is Miss Dior
Good morning everyone -

Science is not only compatible with spirituality, it is a profound source of spirituality. When we recognize our place in an immensity of light-years and in the passage of ages, when we grasp the intricacy, beauty, and subtlety of life, then that soaring feeling, that sense of elation and humility combined, is surely spiritual. ..Carl Sagan
Hello all. LUSH Gorilla Perfumes Voice Of Reason.
Aqua Allegoria Winter Delice by Guerlain
I have to really be in the mood for this one, it's so dry and brittle (for a Guerlain) sometimes I feel like it's a room spray rather than a fragrance - but today it smells wonderful on my warm skin, and its really coming alive. I only wear it around the holidays, so of course the olfactory associations are also wonderful and fun.
TWolf - Everytime I see anyone mention Detchema I think of you. I've never smelled it, but somehow it's become (in my mind) your scent.
Good afternoon, all! Unseasonably warm here-- they predicted a wintry mix but it's 45º and just a little wet.
I'm wearing C&E Lily of the Valley from the 1990s (two versions ago.)
Ooh la la, Evangeline ! That's quite the dress.
Jicky extrait tonight. Again.
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.
Best to all.
L'Artisan Séville à l'Aube.
I don't know much about medicine, but I know what I like. -- S.J. Perelman
Parfum d'Empire Musc Tonkin for me.
Good evening. SOTD & SOTE Peche Cardinal.
Nearly finished with shopping for Christmas gifts, I'm relaxing this afternoon in Ava Luxe Madeline. It's putting me in the mood for baking something.
Thank you, Mike. Thank you, E. Not the worst fragrance to be known by, errrrrr?
Irma Shorell Maroc for this PM.
Hey y'all -
And now house-twins with ExtremeK, I'm in Love's True Bluish Light for the evening.
I should add that the greenhouses aren't mine - I took the photos during my outing to Djurgården, more precisely at wonderful Rosendahl's Gardens where they have several greenhouses, two of which house a cafe. Lovely place and highly recommended if you ever visit Stockholm :-)
I'm test-driving Slumberhouse Baque this evening. My goodness! The honey and tobacco leaf in this one is just lovely! What a wonderful way to warm a gray, chilly evening.
Hello, Basenoters! Haven't been here in awhile and have missed y'all.
SotD was Casmir by Chopard. Loved it, and had not worn it in some time. SotE is Kenzo Jungle Le Tigre. Smells great with the backdrop of this rainy evening.
carolina girl - nice to see you posting again.
Tonight, I'm joining ExtremeK in the house of Slumberhouse in the deep, thick, syrupy:
Sova by Slumberhouse
The last drops from my sample. This scent conjures up little pieces of Eau Noire by Christian Dior, Sables by Annick Goutal and a little bit of that just-opened-the-outdoor-shed-door accord prominently featured in Greenbriar 1968 by CB I Hate Perfume - I'm pretty sure it's the hay that makes this one so magical and nostalgically evocative. When I spray it on I feel like I'm in someone else's house, somewhere comfortable...lived in, where you don't mind tracking dirt in or putting your feet up on the coffee table.
Perusing the Slumberhouse website, it seems this scent is priced slightly higher than the others (my luck). Maybe it's because of it's strength - it wears like an extrait.
E, pretty picture!
I'm testing Le Labo Santal 33 today. hmmmm ... not much sandalwood in this. Not my thing ... next!
I've trademarked the color bleu
Hello dearest BNers...hope your weekend is winding up on a good note.
SOTD: JM Blackberry & Bay (from a sample)
